Re: Where will you be if you can't find you?
Thanks for the read, Bo. My first interaction with the GHZ was on the old, old forum (before phpBB) where I posted something that was painfully obvious to the world but was such a huge revelation to eight-year-old-or-whatever me that I just had to tell somebody on the internet. Graciously, the respo...

Re: What are you playing today?
Is Mario Kart 8 actually good? As someone who thought Double Dash and Mario Kart Wii blowed goats? I'm having some fun with it, though it's not exactly setting my world on fire. The courses are pretty good, the game's visually appealing, and the soundtrack is well done. On the downside, though, the...

Re: What are you playing today?
This actually kind of intrigues me. Is it like a code? I keep seeing all these square patterns that I assume are meant to represent words. I assume there's a Rosetta Stone tucked away somewhere? Apparently there's a room where there's a fox jumping over a dog. Nearby is written the sentence, "The q...

For what it's worth, I thought those were the most fun. The final level / boss were alright, but the levels themselves are with considering if nothing else.Cuckooguy wrote:chase-the-treasure levels

Re: What are you playing today?
I doubt this is going to revive the franchise, or at least I hope it doesn't. Not like this. Looks like you're right. As far as Fez goes, it's… not balanced very well? Some of the puzzles are clear enough, but some of them are just… really obscure. And if you want to get all the things without usin...

Re: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Not to Come until 2012
I just gave it a run though. It's a huge step up from Episode I, but it's a sizable step back from Generations. In particular, the physics are better but still off, and the level design seemed less high-quality than Generations. (I don't remember the levels from E1 enough to make a good comparison.)...

Awesome as always, Silv! :D Ritz, your submission is really cool, too! It has a nice sense of vertigo.

Re: PS3 recommendations
I thought Braid was a lot of fun. The later levels have some interesting twists on the initial concept, and the puzzles made you think without being completely obscure (at least most of the time).

Re: So... Portal 2
Yeah, I heard about that one a couple times. Apparently you can get around it by starting a new game from that chapter -- hardly desirable, but better than needing to restart completely. A friend and I tried to nail down what caused it, but didn't have any luck; where were the two auto-saves, if you...

Hey... is anyone playing Child of Eden? I'd love to hear if it's a worthy follow-up to Rez. I've enjoyed my time with it so far. It's pretty similar to Rez in some ways, but it's pretty different in others, so I'm hesitant to say it is or is not a worthy follow up; your milage may vary. I like the ...

Re: SCEI's NGP (PSP2)
I'm right there with you, Esrever. Most of the PSP games I've played feel like this would have been noticeably improved if they were on a home console. The only games I can think of that didn't really smack of that were Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. (In fairness,...

Re: eXTREMEShop.
So I just loaded this up, and it seems a bit more functional than the previous stores. There's a search box at the bottom of the screen and a menu button at the top. The middle has buttons you can scroll horizontally (akin to the 3DS home screen) for featured games, news, settings, game categories, ...

To the best of my knowledge, everything but the PC / '360 versions of PSU have been shut down, at least in the 'States (outside of Japan?). :{

It's cool. I like the style, which reminds me somewhat of one of the videos from beatmania IIDX, though I can't place which song in particular at the moment.

Re: All-new 2D Sonic rolling out in 2010
So, if -- IF -- this game DIDN'T have broken physics, do you guys think you'd consider it good, or at least decent? I didn't think the level designes were terrible, though I'm usually on the more forgiving side of the tolerance gradient of this forum. I though it was alright. With working physics, i...

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden
I recently started replaying Metroid Prime 3, trying to wash the bad taste of Other M out of my mouth. Now THIS is how Samus ought to react to Ridley! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EK7J8Js7ovk#t=0m22s That fight was so cool. Really tense and memorable. :) Also, I agree: That's the correct reaction.

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden
So I beat it. Trust me - by the time you finish Other M , you're gonna want Prime separated from that bullshit. You're two for two. ¬_¬ I think it's pretty solid from a game point of view most of the time, but the story. Just… ugh. I'll give it credit for going to an unexpected place, but that's it....

Re: Samus in Ninja Gaiden
I take it you've never played Fusion . Correct. They're that similar, huh? Also, the Prime series is no longer accepted as part of the chronology, but rather something akin to a parallel universe, now that Sakamoto has decided to show how much of an ass he really is. Wha? Is that this game's doing?...
