Likewise, I've been rather unimpressed with some platformers, and I never really caught on to the love for Mario. Recently, though, I've been really getting into the two Oddworld games for PSX. The atmosphere, both visually and in terms of gameplay, seems pleasently calmer than your average coin-ob...

There was also a semi-cool little RPG for the MSX called SD Snatcher, that I don't believe was ever released on any console systems. Does SD Snatcher have anything to do with Kojima's Snatcher? If so, do you know anything about it? I've never played the game, and never seen anything but screenshots...

Snatcher

One of the games that I recently played through was Hideo Kojima's Snatcher. For those of you who have not heard of it, it's a text adventure of sorts with occasional shooting sections (where you have the option to use a light gun) set in the year 2047 in the fictional (I believe) Japanese city Ne<i...

In other possible April Fools related news, it seems drx, websmaster of Hacking-Cult has obtained a fairly developed beta of Sonic X-treme. The disc supposedly contains a playable jungle, mechanical and snow level (Pictures of the levels, which contain no noticeable signs of manipulation, are linke...

For me it would probably be the Sonic 3 and Knuckles special stages, I always used to get some sort of adrenaline rush from playing them once they started to speed up, trying my best to find the lost blue sphere without hitting a red one. My eyes would be spinning in circles by the time I finally go...

I think it's confirmed that MJ did work on the Sonic 3 score at one point but his tunes making it into the final version of the game is merely a conspiracy (although an intriguing one).

I kind of went through multiple phases of liking and disliking Metroid Prime. I'm not the biggest first person shooter fan, so the basic premise of the gameplay wasn't my cup of tea to start with but the exploration and the elements of the story slowly revealing themselves began to grow on me. Howev...

That list sucks: two versions of Street Fighter 2, Resident Evil 4 and Dragon Quest V on the same list; Final Fantasy III on the top ten; no Soul Calibur, Ape Escape, NIGHTS, or Mega Man 2 (he was completely ingnored suprisingly); and, the obvious facts of FFX being number 1, the top 25 being RPG do...

And does Popcorn's status elevate him above punishment for double posts?
I don't think double posts really matter unless you go "Look guys, I just did a double post lol," or something along that lines, or you consistently do it.

About PoR... I've never played any Fire Emblem games. Does the game have a tutorial mode for begginers or something like that? PoR is the first Fire Emblem game I've ever played and yes it does have ample tutorials on how to play it. One word of advice though, if one of your characters dies, you ei...

If my memory fails me, didn't Sonic 2- S&K HAD multiple routes??? Sure, some of them were hard to follow, but the game was ANYTHING but linear. Your memory does fail because they did (and so did the original). The 3D ones were a bit lacking in that department (Sonic Adventure had the occasional sec...

Just because the paper gets bigger or the pencil gets sharper doesn't mean you have to draw something bigger or more detailed. Properly done, a small simple drawing can be just as meritorious as a large complicated one. I think what you were looking for is that as time progresses, the art of making...

Super Mario World has much larger levels than Super Mario Bros. 3, and they also feature more depth, often containing multiple paths or exits and the like (The Ghost Houses are good examples). I still like 3 better mind you, but World is lovely all the same.
