Final boss revealed It's Yami from Okami. Didn't expect that one.

Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
That sounds like a really interesting fight. I was kind of holding out for Sigma, though.
Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
So has anyone successfully imported anything for Wii here? Do the updates pretty much make the freeloaders ineffective?
Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
For the first time in months, I tried using my freeloader, and I got an error message.

Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
Yeah, Nintendo pretty much snuffed out Datel's FreeLoader almost a year ago--but I know there are some homebrew apps that will do the job just as well.
Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
Maybe I'll ask for a link to those apps if I seriously consider importing it. For now, I'm a bit preoccupied with finals and Christmas stuff. But it's good to know there's a way around that stuff still.

Apparently, the NTSC name's getting a minor edit, changing to "Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars". Also, online play AND new characters MIGHT be added into the localized version. Oh, and it's coming here before the end of the year (GLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE).

Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
Man, i hardly know any of the anime characters in this game. Why couldn't Capcom have made made a deal with whatever company it is that owns Maple Town instead?
Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
I don't know anime at all, and my only knowledge of Capcom is through the Ace Attorney series. But, then again, I knew maybe four of the characters in the original Smash Bros., and that was quite fun and eye-opening...
Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
Dude. You're seriously telling me you've never played any of these? Do you exist?K2J wrote:my only knowledge of Capcom is through the Ace Attorney series
Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
None of you are real. Niether am I. Neither is GHZ. One of us is currently sitting in a psychiatric ward somewhere in west Pennsylvania. Every night a different personality takes over his mind and imagines they are someone else. Someone like One Classy Bloke, a patent violator in Europe; Green Gibbon, a weeaboo in the far east; all of these people we think we are are just figments of one of our overactive imaginations. All of our lives are as fake as we are and the only similarity between these fantasies is this site: The Gee Aytch Zee. Because every personality created the same thing, it has become a nexus for us and has allowed us to communicate. We think that it is a Sonic fan site, when in reality we are all right next to each other in one body without realizing it and this is how we have become aware of each other. Ritz, Neo, Holic, P.P.A, everyone who comes to GHZ, one of you is very real. I am not, I know that I am one of the fakes. I was able to realize that when I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said fresh and had a dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare but I thought naw forget it, yo home to bel-air. I pulled up to a house about seven or eight and I yelled to the cabby yo, home smell you later. Looked at my kingdom I was finally there, to settle my throne as the prince of bel-air.Neo wrote:Do you exist?

Don't make me do a spit-take like that.
OK, fine, I played DuckTales. Sorry; I got into gaming mostly by the GameBoy before moving to the N64. Both the NES and SNES heydays passed me by, and my lack of PlayStation or Saturn/Dreamcast involvement led me mostly to Nintendo titles (because if you were to have any system back in the late 90s, it'd be the one that could play Pokémon Stadium).
I view this as an introduction to both sides, much in the same way the original SSB introduced me to the likes of Kirby, Samus, and Link.

Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
If it means anything, Ryu is bound to be the easiest to learn, seeing how little his moveset has changed from the first Street Fighter (although it was naturally much, much easier to pull off in Street Fighter 2 and onwards). As such he's bound to be the most average character there, but hell, it's Ryu.

I never thought I'd be the cynical one, but I wonder how much they'll need to cut from the original game.
Why do I get the feeling Flash had that reply ready for a long time before that question?

You know, my girlfriend has DID. It's kind of like accessing a forum, except occasionally, the Site News board doesn't cry on my shoulder and have an existentialist crisis about the nature of being a part of a larger database of information.

So I've been scoping this game out a little. Unless I'm mistaken, the console port is going to be Wii only. Is that about right?

Yeah, that sounds about right.
Seems only fair. HD consoles (and PC) get Street Fighter IV, Wii owners get a vs. title starring a bunch of characters most people haven't heard of.
I mean, the company HAS put out titles I've heard of - Speed Racer, Evangelion, Robotech, Samurai Pizza Cats... but absolutely none of those franchises were used, so who cares? Lord knows I'll just buy it because Mega Man Volnutt is in it (although liking Street Fighter titles doesn't hurt).

Re: Obscure Japanese Company I Don't Care About vs. Capcom
Just seems like a strange choice. I mean, sure, awesome, I can actually buy this thing, but are there even enough buttons to make the control scheme work? And yeah, the whole HD thing. Whatev.
I'm still pretty stoked about this game for having Yatterman. Finally, another title to sit alongside my battered pirate import copy of Bokan to Ippatsu Doronbo Kanpekiban!.

I figure it's one of those games where the Classic Controller or GameCube controller are required. And if it's Classic, then, well, Street Fighter 2 worked pretty well on the SNES.
