Buildings kind of blend into the sky, while the lights stand out too much from the buildings. Both fixable by making the buildings brighter... or you could at least fix the latter by making the lights dimmer.

Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
Pretty sure that's intentional, at night from a distance the lights are typically all you can see, the silhouettes of the buildings are only visible if there is something lighter behind them.
I do think the foreground buildings are a little too uniform, despite the range of perspectives applied to them. I'd make them larger and try to make them more diverse while still keeping the perspective "correct," though I don't know what limitations you're working with as far as size constraints go so it might be harder than I'm thinking.

Drew this today. I usually only ever draw at school (and even that's becoming sporadic), hence the lines.

If you care to see it in 1280x1024, you can find it here.
I've always wanted to draw him drunk and being buddy buddy with Gilder. I'm weird like that.
Anyway, I guess it doesn't count as artwork, but I'd also like to announce that I'm making a fansite called Ares Arcadia based on Eternal Arcadia. I started it a couple of months ago and I wish I was finished by now but oh well so once I finish it I've decided to never make a new fansite again. Hope you like it.

It may just be the angle for me, but...is that a pirate Mr. Saturn?

Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
I should probably join the artwork bandwagon, although I'll admit I'm intensely jealous of all the talent in this thread.
Here's something representative of what I normally do. Made in Illustrator and converted to a .jpg via MS Paint.
That character visually resembles me, btw.
And here's the only "quality" piece of Sonic-related fanwork I've done to this point. Made on MS Paint, with a Sonic 1 sprite.
Pretty damn random.
P.P.A., that background is kickass, especially with those animated clouds. Reminds me more of Stardust Speedway Bad Future, though.

Cuckooguy, I really, really like it. Some of the characters are at odd angles given the perspective, but it's never enough to ruin the overall warm, fuzzy feelings it gives me.

Cuckooguy, that's a really nice picture. You manage to fit a lot in there, and it captures a mood very well.
Somebody should make this happen. :3Yami CJMErl wrote:It may just be the angle for me, but...is that a pirate Mr. Saturn?

Cuckooguy, nice job! It does the source material proud!
And that site... it's so thorough. I can't wait to see it finished. Is this what you've been doing in your spare time instead of playing video games this year?

More such doodles to follow, after all Wilhelm II. in an endless source for silliness.
I am not pleased with the way I draw the eyes though. For some reason this one reminds me of something I do not like, I just don't know what. The Simpsons perhaps, yeah, those too. (Oh and I know the emperor looks crappy in the second one, sorry.)

Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
It's not. You know, they're still on our tanks and everything. And I think medals too. After all, they're still a symbol of the Teutonic Order and have been used for centuries in Prussia and then the German Empire, so I guess even Hitler failed to taint such a long tradition.Kogen wrote:It is criminal to make those iron crosses now, better watch out!

Actually it was the one with the circle on it, not the open one, so nevermind!
They will just ban this one later.

A quick sketch still manages to be better than what Sonic Team makes for art.
