Avenge your father by finding sailors, Wii-style...?

Post by Shadow Hog »

At least, if this rumor is true.

I'd buy it. I'll admit that I have the DC original and the Xbox port of the 2nd, but damn if I wouldn't buy it anyway, just because it's friggin' Shenmue.

Let's hope it doesn't get the NMH approach to control battle sequences.
And that it gets to be superior to the Dreamcast originals in any way at all.

Sega did re-release House of the Dead 2 & 3 on the Wii about two months back, so this might not be too far-fetched.

If this turns out to be real, I would like to see the online features of the passport disc implemented into the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, since I was five years too late by the time I bought Shenmue 1 off of Amazon.

Does anyone else think the bad ending of Shenmue 2 should be considered canon since there is no word on Shenmue 3's release?

I'd buy it if it had both English and Japanese voice tracks on it.

There were multiple endings in Shenmue 2? I played through it a couple of times and got the same ending. It might make it worth another play through if there's other endings.

I think you only get the bad ending if you don't make it to the end by a certain date. Shenmue 1 was the same way.

I think you could just screw around long enough that the bad ending would happen. You didn't even have to finish, just mess around long enough with toy capsules and Nozomi (you know, important things) and Lan Di gets away forever.

I watched the bad ending on youtube. Lan Di actually comes back because he heard of another mirror, so it ends on a cliffhanger where Ryo and Lan Di are just about to fight eachother.

It's kind of ironic considering the whole point of the game is to screw around.

I just figured they had to put that in there to stop you from letting the in-game clock get too far into the future. Otherwise you could have just sit around until it was 2030, wondering why the arcade never progressed past Outrun.

If time paradoxes were any concern, Ryo would be able to win a Mark III rather than a Saturn.

Also, there would be no Sonic or Virtua Fighter toys in the capsule machines.

That's true! But you have to admit, it would be kind of game breaking if you could let them game carry on for 150 in-game years. (Hilarious, though!)

I remember hearing that Animal Crossing is actually supposed to have a conclusion in like 2030 or something.

I went about a million years into the future in that game, so I highly doubt that.

Absolutely no linking to individual webcomic strips, regardless of how relevant they may be to the conversation.
Addendum: especially not VG fucking Cats.

Still, it's hard to imagine a person doing anything for leisure after witnessing a close family member's murder.

That was pretty stupid considering that Hang On and Space Harrier were release for the Master System.

Actually Lan Di kills Ryo in the bad ending.

Well, I played hide & seek at my grandmother's funeral with my cousins when I was like 11.

Oh, right. Murder.

What are you talking about? Both were arcade classics. The stupid thing is Ryo playing those on the Saturn instead of Panzer Dragoon and [insert Hang-On equivalent for the Saturn here]. He should have a Master System and play Hang-On from the bios and Space Harrier with the 3-D glasses.

Thanks a lot dickhead. Ever heard of spoilers? It's so easy, you should try it once.

You're not allowed to bitch about spoilers for anything that's more than a decade old.

Describing game over sequences is considered spoilers now?

Hey guys, Tails tells Sonic to get back up but Sonic doesn't

Hoe do you people avoid spoilers for anything over a month old? Do you just stick your fingers in your ears and sing? You're on the internet. The information highway. It has information on it.
