Wow so the 360 version manages to look about ten times as much fun. It looks faster, smoother, brighter, and better in almost every way.

So out of a wealth of fantastic characters, these guys decide to include an ordinary looking dwarf? And then go on to keep it a secret? If Temjin or a Humar had been in this game it would have been an instant buy. What a terrible roster.

By the way, I'm not trying to be negative here.

When comparing the 360 and PS3 shots, is it just me, or do the PS3 character models look significantly better? (Specifically, Tails.)

That interview video is interesting. 'We did a focus group. Kids love Shadow. My opinion...I'm not going to say.' Heh.

Also, I think the Sumo Digital guy's accent is cool.

But it's not just any dwarf, it's the Golden Axe dwarf! The fact that they used another Pre-DC character at all is a surprise.

Also U.S. Boxart

I think they could've scored more points with their target audience by replacing Eggman with Beat, but that's just me.

Anyone got this yet? I picked it up today and it's actually quite good. The special moves aren't as game breaking as I thought they could be as they aren't just an instant win button, you can actually defend against them if you're good enough. The courts are fantastic. Metal Sonic appears in one. Overall I’m impressed. I’ve not played Virtua Tennis 3 to compare it to but it’s as much fun as I need for my friends to get it. Online on 360 is great too.

I've gotten it too and it is great. I generally hate sports games but even I find this fun. It's refreshing to see Sonic staring in a game that is in the top tier of its genre.

The only issue I had was the superstars moves; I just turned them off as they're unfair and annoying.

Dammit. This was gonna be the Sonic game I didn't touch. I bought the fucking Olympic game. I bought fucking Riders 2. And now I find out this one's decent?

Also, I notice they all have online play except for the Wii version. Get the feeling Nintendo's a real nazi with the Wii's Wi-Fi multiplayer? I mean, really, the DS had a ton of follow-ups after Mario Kart came out. Strikers and Brawl are kind of a weak online roster for a console that's been out this long.

FYI, the reason the Wii version lack online is that Sumo Digital didn't have time to impliment it in that version.

Which adds to the mentality that Nintendo doesn't care that much for online play either.

I still have to try this thing also.

UKR have their review up for it. Basically it echoes everything I think about the game. :)

...I just can't get my head around the fact that this game isn't horrible. I mean, I know Virtua Tennis is good, so it's not that far a leap to say a Sega-made tennis game with Sonic in it could be good, but... I just can't bring myself to believe it. o.o Who wants to let me borrow their copy so I can try it out? :P

I'm sure Blockbuster wouldn't mind.

Well, according to most media outlets, it's not.

They've got the Wii version at work, and I was tempted to buy it. Do the different versions only differ graphics-wise? 'Cause I'm down with that. Anything that gets some use out of that bastard console is A-OK in my book.

Okay, so apparently I bought this game sometime last night/this morning in a drunken stupor, along with a pork pie, two boxes of Dairylea Dunkers and a pack of frankfurters. I'm not too clear on the exact details. Anyway, I gave it a go today and it's quite a laugh. Still getting to grips with which control scheme is best, and I have no idea what's going on in doubles matches, but I'm having a good time anyway. I guess Sega really knows how to do their tennis games. It's just good quality, well-presented and, most importantly, pretty fun to play. I keep having geekgasms at all the little chunks of nostalgia they keep throwing in there.

Well done, Mr. Sega. You've appeased me. If the level of detail and presentation in Unleashed matches this, then I can forgive the occasional supernatural transformation.

Just mute your TV, seriously. Japanese isn't all it's cracked up to be anyways.
