That's what I thought as well. I like the concept of a Chao Gargen-esque area to raise Nightopians in instead playing around with them in-level.

I really think Nights is more charming as an asexual entity, but that's just me.
Well yeah, Thats basically what theyre aiming for, it is a dream after all, stuff is mixed in dreams so sex is also mixed. and Pink and Purple are boy's color in dreams.
It's because of the Japanese, where it's not at all consistent. Chaos is pronounced like "Cows" (カオス), it's a known borrowed word over there, I think, and a single Chao is pronounced "Chow" (チャウ), and totally made up.
Also, most of the time Chaos' name seems to be written in romaji, while the Chao term is written in katakana. Many languages other than english pronounce chao like "chow".
EDIT: It's actually チャオ, not チャウ.

I know not this... "jappa-knees". I just stuck with what seemed like the logical conclusion. Then again, the English language is a fickle mistress. I remember getting burned by "chameleon" as a youngster.
There is a difference between Aztecs of old and the illegals of today. The Aztecs gathered their food from the wild and sacrificed people. The modern Mexicans have bad 5 o'clock shadow and do menial jobs for almost nothing. And besides, I found Tikal more tolerable than Omochao.
As someone pointed out somewhere once, his species is Australian, his ancestors were Mexican, his voice is honky² and his music and dreadlocks are far from a subtle hint at blackitude. So he's probably a bit of a mutt.
Since he lives on a floating island, I'd assume it isn't Mexico or Brazil. If he's a wigger or not is something else entirely. From what I've gathered, his personality would be a mixture of Mesoamerican and African. I've never seen him act Iberian(ex: Spanish) in any way.
I don't know if this was ever mentioned, but I got an e-mail from SEGA yesterday about a "Making Of" DVD that's a supposed pre-order bonus for the game.
A mud/stray hut isn the same as a stone shine/pyramid. Plus he doesn't ever say "mon". And despite what he looks like, I don't think he has dreadlocks. It's just his hair/spines that are similar to Sonic's; nothing tying them together like that.
The video is up on YouTube, if you're interested. I misread it at first and thought we'd get something like a Limited Edition NiGHTS package. This I couldn't even care about. The shitty PSU package must have really put them off on releasing that kind of stuff.
