I wish the songs were more obnoxious. I want more Escape from the City ridiculousness, the only one that came close was "every single drop, it's all you got! every single drop, it's all you got!"
Obviously he wants to break free from 1001 Nights so he can sue Disney for royalties of Disney's Aladdin.

And take revenge on Robin Williams.
Erazor does have a little motivation, but not much more than what Zeta guessed. He's the genie from Aladdin's story, and after a thousand years in servitude, he wants to erase the record of his imprisonment from ever happening.

Unfortunately, I was more troubled about the plans for the sequel, where Sonic jumps into a Reconstruction-era history book and similarly sends the freed slaves back. I'm not sure I like the messages SONICTEAM is sending!

How awkward are we talking? Are we talking Pumpkin Hill awkward, or are we talking Jesus Saves by Slayer at an Episcopalian barbecue awkward?

No, <i>Sonic R</i>'s music was memorable, for better or worse, and (I suppose I failed to mention this, sorry) the lyrics THERE are singing, while here it's all rap.

I'd say "Pumpkin Hill" (although the lyrics don't seem to form any coherent poem or anything, and really are just slapped in there for no reason), but only because I don't listen to Slayer.

You have to admit Sonic R's lyrics are terrible.

Sonic Adventure has a few challengers, though. Tails' theme comes to mind, as does Amy's ("it was so cute, I had to shave it" what the fuck?).

Oh, of course they're terrible, I always turn them off. But I generally know what they are, and the music is memorable enough, with or without, that I could easily hum a few bars of any of the tunes if requested.

Except for Super Sonic Racing. But yeah, for the rest of the songs I turn the lyrics off like Shadow Hog. "....can yooooou feel the sunshine, doesn't it brighten up your day, don't you think that sometimes we just need to run awaaaaaay..." GOD, just shoot me.

Every time I hear that lyric, I think of something that no Sonic hentai artist has drawn. Yet.

Apparently, according to Ian Potto, <a href="http://www.bumbleking.com/forum/viewtop ... t=233">you could've gotten a free comic DVD with a purchase of <i>Secret Rings</i> from Target</a>. Unfortunately, he posted this too late, since I've already got my copy from GameSpot. Thus, I cannot say how good the comic is, or, well, <i>anything</i>, other than that it exists.

Well according to that Gamespot forum topic, some people are got figurines, T-shirts, and wristbands. A interactive comic seems kinda lame by comparison, no?

You were reading the wrong topic, dum-dum.

At Nintendo World in New York City, with the purchase of this game, you recieve a free Sonic And the Secret Rings T-Shirt (most likely Large), and a free Sonic 15th Anniversary figurine. The figurine's better than the T-Shirt IMO. =|

If you get your hands on this deal, enjoy! If not, too bad!

So basically it's another case of Secret Rings fans OUTSIDE of NYC getting stiffed. Lovely.

Oh yeah, I posted a pic of Darkspine Sonic over at this other Sonic-based forum I go to, and this is what happened:
some whiner wrote:and it's also why people are pissed at the franchise, super should be an extra, not a "omg we're gonna die MIRACLE SUPER!"

WE DEMAND SUPER IN REGULER STAGES
me wrote:...except for the fact that this ISN'T Super Sonic.

I mean, does that looks ANYTHING like Super Sonic? No, it's a one-shot Super transformation (like Dark Super Sonic in Sonic X). Hell, the CHAOS EMERALDS don't even show up in this game.

And the reason so many people are pissed at the Sonic franchise is that the 3D console games have slowly become more and more unplayable, culminating in the buggy, glitch-ridden, "NOW LOADING..." screen that is SONIC 360.

Secret Rings is so popular because it actually REMEDIES many of these problems (in this game, at least).
some whiner wrote:he glitches have NOTHING to do with it CJ, SONIC360 was the only glitch ridden thing, there was no other bad sonic game, GET OVER IT.

second, the POINT is it's not normal sonic, it's some kinda overpowered one.
me wrote:Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Heroes, and Shadow the Hedgehog would all like to have a word with you.

I'm thinking he would've said so if it were, but do tell.

...it's not the Sonic Stadium forums is it?

Nope, I avoid those forums like the plague. It's a little place called EchoWorld Forums.

LOL...what is so cool about the word Echo, that use to be my first character's name, must've been the same for everone...

But if they don't think Shadow is buggy, I wouldn't go there...

There's probably better reasons not to, and being buggy, for once, doesn't happen to be one of the faults of the Shadow game.

I put Shadow's crappy controls into the same catergory as bugs, because it could have been fixed with more betatesting and tweaking.

The "mature" content, was not a bug. I'm not that stupid.

Other missions, such as races against a swift opponent or objective fetching, are equally aggravating. The most fun missions are the ones that allow Sonic to do what he does best: Run fast.
I don't have the game yet, so I might be wrong, but this seems kind of contradictory. If you could elaborate on that it would be great; Are the races not fun because they're ridiculously hard, or is there some other reason that prevents Sonic from ever reaching top speed?
