I dunno, they put <i>Half-Life 2</i> into Japanese arcades somehow or another, so, given the absurdity of THAT idea, THIS doesn't surprise me as much as it could. The screenshots given makes it look like a lightgun game, anyway, so it's probably "<i>The House of the Dead</i>, but from Konami".

Konami should be making a new Pariodus game for arcades, not a SH game.

Has most of the Silent Hill development team left Konami or something? What's happening with the franchise exactly? This looks nothing like a Silent Hill experience and neither does that Resident Evil 4-esque PSP game. I couldn't stomach "The Room" at all and it looks like things have went downhill even further since then.

I've always had a soft spot for light gun games, but this seriously is essentially the Thing That Should Not Be of the Silent Hill series.

Maybe it'll incorporate some of the psychological terror? That'd make it worthwhile, but...

1) You have a partner.

2) You have unlimited ammo (part of the charm of the original games was the fact that you faced overwhelming odds and that if you weren't sure if you had enough ammo to get through an area, you'd shit your pants at the site of a group of enemies.)

3) I'd feel like a sissy jumping at an arcade. Wii port, pliise.

I really enjoyed 4, but it wasn't Silent Hill, not like the first three. Even 3 was a step in the wrong direction, but not nearly as bad as this. Ugh.

I enjoyed 4 as a game in and of itself, but not so much as a continuation of the Silent Hill series. The only tie-ins are the vague references to Silent Hill 2, which almost felt like in-jokes, except, you know, with plot.

I recall hearing somewhere that The Room had nothing to do with the Silent Hill series until someone decided to slap the franchise title on for good marketing or somesuch.

Yeah, I think the official story is that it was originally a new series, but at the last minute, they started to panic and slapped the title on the game, and then added the elements connecting it to 2, or it was in there as a subtle reference, or something.

Anyone here ever "played" Metal & Lace? If you did, you know what I'm talking about.

Is that Yoshizaki Mine (Keroro Gunsou manga) doing the character designs?
