Come to think of it, that describes every Sonic villain ever. I know it'd contradict the feel of the series somewhat, but a badguy needs a victory in here somewhere. Even if it's a minor one that sets up a sequel or something... Just something that makes them less inept.

Eggman did kill Sonic in Sonic Adventure 2, or so he thought. I'd say that's as far as you'll go with winning villains, ignoring Shadow's Dark endings.

I was thinking more overall, actually (as in, in the final, true ending of the game, say, Eggman stumbles upon a new weapon, which he uses in the next game), but that's a good point.

Basicaly, that would be something that would make him less evil. Being a programmed machine isn't exactly something that gives much real personality.

He was programmed to kill Sonic and had no feelings. It was like a Terminator, its keep and keep going until it couldn’t longer function. Unlike the last Metal Sonic(Sonic heroes) that had a screwed up mind, a Ego bigger than Eggman and totally idiotic plans.

The best example of a powerfull "robot Sonic" would be Silver Sonic, it was almost unstoppable when powered up with the Master emerald, too bad it never faced Sonic in “Gold modeâ€￾. Or Sonic would have been crashed and burned. It was also too dumb, since it was a old model and all, maybe that’s why Knuckles could defeat it.

I don’t get why Eggman haven’t tried to create a mix of Sonic & Chaos DNA, it would be unstoppable with Sonic power as Super and Chaos immortality, maybe he was trying to do that in Sonic heroes but metal ruined all.

Metal: I metal, eat get seven emeralds, metal got big, crush Sonic!.

Wait...Tails Doll was introduced in Sonic R. In which Metal Knuckles was also introduced. So we have:

Sonic vs. Metal Sonic
Knuckles vs. Metal Knuckles
Tails vs. ...Tails Doll?

Perhaps they thought Tails was too adorable to get an evil metal version, so they settled for a less-evil foe: Tails Doll! In which case, either Tails Doll is far less villainous than Metal Sonic, or they just have an out-of-whack sense of what is and what isn't evil.

Yes he is evil!, But I guess they couldn’t use a mecha tails cause that was one of the things Tails used in "Tails adventure".

Heeey...so that's what his avi is...I thought it was some abstract art of a toilet of sorts (inspired by "Drano Master" above his avi), or maybe a pigeon turd. But the eye makes more sense...

Although I disagree anyway, I also call your attention to my previous point: even if Tails Doll turned out more evil than any of the others, I suspect it was unintentional on the part of the designers. So it wasn't meant to be evil...just an out of control creation...
