Rendered Sonic2 ending

Post by Cypher »

Some of you may have come across a rather awesome rendered version of the Sonic 2 ending sequence that a deviantARTist by the name of chris-supernerd has made (I'm assuming some of you already know about it since GHZ@emulationzone gets a mention in the special thanks)

I'm surprised there isn't a thread about it already actually. So here's a link
http://www.minisinmotion.com/chrisguy/sonic2/index.htm

Some people such as myself may need to download this to veiw the movie properly

The links I've put work fine for me. As for the links on the download page, I've jus' checked them out and it's only the low quality download that seems to have a broken link.

EDIT: Okay so that link doesn't seem to be working anymore. Try this one instead http://www.sonic84.com/sonicFMV/

Awesome! Unlike most fan projects, those models are nearly spot on and the animation is very smooth. Nice job...uh, Chris-supernerd.

It's just too bad Pre-SA Sonic just doesn't look right in 3D, no matter how nice the model is. Don't get me wrong, the Mega Drive design was excellent, but to go back to it in a future game would be quite disappointing.

Ohshima-style Sonic in 3D looks just fine to me. The only major flaw I noticed in the video was that Sonic didn't really look like he was falling. It was more like he was just hanging around in midair and then decided to float down when the Tornado showed up.

Oh, and the guy should have used Sweet Sweet Sweet for the background music.

Apparently he didn't get all the Chaos Emeralds.

Why didn't get jump off of the Tornado at the end? Where's the crazy pose?!

And the Flickies!!!!!! How dare this one-man amateur project not adhere perfectly to every minute detail of the in-game cinematic!

I think it would have been cool if Sonic was spinning around in the air while falling like he did in the game.

Why'd the Death Egg blow up? Doesn't it fall to earth?

Where's Super Sonic? He was suppose to get all the emeralds.

Where are the rocket boosters on the Tornado? The damn plane was shot down.

We're really skirting around the main issue, here; the main issue being that my piece-of-shit picture is no way going to win the fucking Sonic Classic Contest on dA if that is in the running.

I love you from this day on Spazz. And I second j-man. Where the sweet fuck did you get this? I spent a whole week looking for it on the net AND speaking to nerds who only listen to japanese music because they dig anime!

Hey. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with that cool Star Light Zone... heeeeey. It DOES! Damn...
