Esrever is a cool guy.
Today I went to Comic-Con International at the San Diego Convention Center, and I stopped by Esrever's booth. I picked up the book (which I was glad to have done, because that meant I'd have something to read on my ride back on the Coaster), which is pretty damn cool. If I'm correct, it has one new Sam & Fuzzy comic in it (entitled "The Gay Conspiracy"), along with other various strips and stories (and some really strange Skull Panda comics in the very back, upside down). The book itself is a bit bigger than a standard postcard. I gotta say, these comics look great on paper.
Anyway, I walked up and akwardly said that I'd like to buy one of the books, as his nametag was turned around and wasn't positive it was him, but after I asked if he was Sam, he figured out that it was me (it was also helped by the fact that I was wearing my SEGA font GAMER T-shirt). I talked with him for a couple of minutes, but didn't want to keep him busy, so I left.
But yeah, nice dude.
Other Highlights of the day included--
- During a presentation by Anchor Bay, Bruce Campbell and a couple of his co-conspirators sat in to talk about Bruce's new film, The Man With the Screaming Brain. Suffice to say, the movie looks great, and was penned, directed, and starred in by Mr. Campbell Himself. My friend (the same one who got me in to E3) and I were three rows away from where Bruce was sitting. We were in awe. It was Bruce Fucking Campbell. They were gonna field questions but no one in the audience was asking any. They fielded questions specifically about the movie, and then Bruce asked if there were any other questions. I raised my hand because this was my chance to talk to Bruce Campbell, and he called on me. I asked a fairly basic question: "What is the best advice you can give to an inspiring film maker?" The answer came, but I actually got to talk back and forth with Ash for several minutes, and he could see me as well, so he was looking straight at me. Funny, cool guy, and he told me the best way to start a career in the Movie Industry. Hail to the King, baby.
- I don't know if anyone here enjoys Tom Goes to the Mayor, but I love it. That shit just makes me laugh, pretty much based on the delivery of the lines. Tom & The Mayor were there signing autographs, and my friend and I got in line. I shook hands with both Tom & The Mayor, got their autographs, and chatted them up while we took pictures. Later, they were leaving their booth to go out for a break. We went outside and Tom is standing there smoking a cigarette. I know I didn't mention it here, but I fell off the No-Smoking Bandwagon sometime this past June, and I'd run out of cigarettes earlier in the day. My friend really wanted to get a picture of us with Tom & The Mayor, and I really wanted to ask Tom if I could bum a cigarette, but we didn't want to bother them because they were talking with a group of friends. We didn't go up and ask, even though we really should have, and now I'm regretting it. Oh well. They started doing this really, really weird shit outta nowhere, and I wish I remember how it went. Some kind of counting game, or something. It was strange, to say the least. Also, The Mayor is very tall. Like, 6'5" or something.
I had a real good time, and I'll extrapolate when I'm not so tired. Because I am Damn Tired.

Well since he was sitting down at his booth and I was on the other side of the table, I couldn't really see his ass.Squirrelknight wrote:So PWB, on a scale of 1-10, how would you rate Esrever's ass? You are the ASSMAN, after all.
But I don't want to leave you with nothing, so I'm just going to pick an arbitrary number.
12. His ass was 12/ASS.
I bet I could outass him any day of the week.plasticwingsband wrote:Well since he was sitting down at his booth and I was on the other side of the table, I couldn't really see his ass.Squirrelknight wrote:So PWB, on a scale of 1-10, how would you rate Esrever's ass? You are the ASSMAN, after all.

Okay, I'll add Esrever, WB, PWB, and Bruce Cambell to my "Reasons to Go to Comic-Con". I thought it couldn't get any cooler after learning that the both the makers of "The Venture Bros." and Lena Li would be there (okay, yeah, Ms. Li's zoomers are fake, but A.) she's a highly intelligent and personable young woman from what I understand, and B.) she's still hot. Hey, some women are attractive despite having implants, and while I do prefer them natural, do to my inner geneticist, a charming demeanor will win me over no matter what. Well that, and the fact that sometimes I'm just too horny to care).
But anyways, when I get the money, I'll be sure to head out there. Maybe we could have a "GHZ Meetup", or something, eh?
