Sonic the Hedgehog music to feature in upcoming concert

:FUS: Sonic in "Video Games Live" concert
Yet another full orchestral/choir concert will be hitting the US (more specifically, California) this coming summer. Only unlike the Dear Friends Final Fantasy concerts, this one will is titled "Video Games Live" and will feature music from both popular and not-so-popular games/franchises, including Metal Gear Solid, Sonic the Hedgehog, Headhunter, and Beyond Good & Evil. The concert will take place on Wednesday, July 6, 2005, 8:00 PM, at the Hollywood Bowl. The performing orchestra is the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Tickets may or may not already be on sale, I'm not sure. I can't find a link to purchase any on the website.

In addition to the music, they'll also have some other fancy crap:
A live concert event featuring full orchestra and choir performing music
from the greatest video games, plus laser and light sequences, video clips,
live characters, and a special segment dedicated to retro arcade classics!
Performance Details

Featured Games:
Advent Rising
Beyond Good & Evil
Halo
Headhunter
Medal of Honor
Metal Gear Solid
Myst
Sonic The Hedgehog
Tomb Raider
Tron
Warcraft

Well, in the original game, yes. But there are like six of them now.

I wonder what they'll be playing from Sonic. Nothing from Dreams Come True I believe, so maybe from Sonic 3 and later games...?

If it's in concert then Ice Cap, Panic Puppet 1 and Lava Reef should make an appearance I hope. Lava Reef would sound so kick-ass.

What about Sky Sanctuary? Or an orchestral version of Open Your Heart or Live And Learn would be interesting.

I'm thinking they'll play the main theme from Sonic 1 and Green Hill Zone at the very least...

The Hidden Palace Zone from Sonic 2 has a nice tune for an orchestra, they should do that Hidden Palace Zone medley that was on the internet a while ago, in which the song evolved into the other one from S&K... Of course, I believe the orchestra wouldn't base their concert on fan midis.

That Hidden Palace song you talk about, is that the song on the sound test that doesn't appear in the game? I seem to remember the Hiddden Palace song on the Sonic 2 Beta rom being from 2 player Mystic Cave, and then changing to Death Egg if you collected 100 rings.

There are two Hidden Palace tunes. There's the one in Sonic 2 that isn't used, and there is the one in S3&K that comes after Lava Reef Zone.
