Making fun of newbie internet speak was mainly popularized a couple of years ago 'cause of this site on Something Awful.

For awhile, it was the funny thing on the internet to misspell "the" and add a lot of exclamation points and ones at the end of sentences.

I second Silv's 'Pep makes an anime thread' proposition, except, y'know, it'd make more sense to have a drink every time Pep did it, not didn't do it. They're not meant to be huge rarities.

Sort of (it's hard to explain). Isambard uses it sometimes, and it's often seen in the hugely successful webcomic "Megatokyo".
