It is an "online touch RPG", that allows cloud saves between platforms or something, with "service" starting in 2014, was announced in the same breath as about a dozen other iOS/Android microtransaction games, and no, i'm afraid this really is happening.

As a fan of both Breath of Fire and iOS games, I have no problem with this at all, and I'm eager to play it.

2D, turn-based RPGs are perfect for touch devices. But they sure ain't perfect for the free-to-play model.
