Baba, furries are one thing, OK, but you are now officially the Biggest Cunt Ever. Seriously, if I ever have the misfortune to meet you it's a bat to the fucking head.
But as I was saying...
Full size w00.
I got my hair cut so now I look like this.
Excuse the text, I use it for my deviantArt profile picture and I lost the originals. Yes, I am shirtless. Go nuts.

That would be the emblem for the Iradani Light Horse, a mercenary faction in the BattleTech universe.
*deep breath*
There are five warring houses and the Star League was on the verge of collapse. General Kerensky, the head military dude, couldn't bare to see his beloved Star League fall to the corruption of the houses so he left the Inner Sphere taking all who would come with him to start a new society based on honor. Those that went with him returned later as the Clans. The ELH, while loyal to Kerensky, could not bear to leave the Star League. As a result they always fly their colors at half mast. They also have all sorts of other traditions, are extremely honor bound and are an elite fighting force.
When the Clans returned, misunderstanding and perverting Kerensky's teachings into their own propaganda, they unleashed a powerful assault on the Inner Sphere. Due to the constant battling, technology had stagnated in the Inner Sphere. The Clans, while outnumbered, had horrifically more advanced weaponry and 'Mechs and grabbed ground very quickly making a b-line for Terra. To survive, the five great houses banded together to stop the Clan invasion.
The Clans were genetically perfect warriors built into a caste system. They looked upon "free born" IS warriors as nothing so they held no mercy for them. To show the Clans they meant business, the IS put a plan together to annhilate Clan Smoke Jaguar. During the aftermath of this, MechWarrior 3 takes place and you play as an ELH commando sent to clean up the remains of the Clan and not allow them to regroup.
Before I played MechWarrior 3, I was a "Clanner" so to speak, but after reading some more BattleTech literature, I have come to realize that the Clans were just as corrupt as the Inner Sphere, and thus far the ELH is really the only faction that isn't just a bunch of assholes (though they have had some issues).
That was a horrible summary and I probably got a few events out of order and didn't even remember the important names. If you are more interested, I can hook you up with some good BT-related sites if need by. In any case, the BT universe is really cool because while it doesn't have realistic technology or even a realistic setting, the characters are pretty real, and as indicated earlier, almost every group is full of corrupt assholes so there are no good guys. One could argue that any faction is good in a sense of the word so there is a realism that isn't depicted in most black and white stories.
It also has a shitload of great mecha.

Man, I got into MechWarrior long before I really delved into guns. That's not to say I didn't like guns at the time, but I liked them in the sense that "blowing shit up is cool so I think I will play this game where I get to blow shit up in a giant robot."
I didn't really get into guns until I got Halo. When I read through the manual I thought it was cool how official-sounding all the weapons were and I thought it would be cool if I designed my own guns. I figured they would be cooler designs if they were actually possible and so I started researching them. Even with all the random facts I could pull out of my head about firearms at any moment, I still recognize that there is so much stuff I don't know (and still want to) so I am constantly looking up shit about them.

Are you kidding me? I've thought giant robots were cool much longer then firearms.

Okay, now THAT is ripe for a sex joke.chriscaffee originally wrote:Are you kidding me? I've thought giant robots were cool before guns were mounted on them.
EDIT: For context, I included what Caffee originally said before he edited it out.

Meh, you still misquoted me.
Just to clear up any ambiguities, being the gun-safe guy I am, I wouldn't point a firearm at anything I wouldn't be willing to shoot. When Chris points a gun at you, you're never sure if he's going to shoot you with it or jam it into one of your orifices. Or shoot you while jamming one end of it into HIS orifaces.
Ever wondered what would happen if you floored the new Nissan Altima SE-R in second (obviously in shift mode)? I have experience. Oh wait, that's right, nobody here cares about guns or cars, Chris.chriscaffee wrote:Ever wonder what happens when a 57-gram lead chunk hits the human skull at Mach 2.6? I have pictures.
Look at the above post, and in case that's too vauge, you're forgetting somebody...Brazillian Cara wrote:Well, that sure explains your love for them. Now let's hear what Baba has to say about furries, and...is there anyone else with something like that? Oh yes! How could I forget? Spazz and E-bay!

I consolidated my posts in to one above. Since I'm not allowed to delete my own posts here, I guess I will just have to fill up space. If anyone else can delete this, please do!

He's serious.

Now, talking about robots and firearms, I think you'd love to play play as Axl in Megaman X8. All of the weapons he gains from the bosses are that kind of stuff- a gatling, a laser gun, a flametrower, a MAGNUM...
This game is the living proof that a game can be fun AND a helluva hard.

I need to practice that. What's the point of wearing glasses if you don't get to do the classic, "My God..."?Baba O'Reily wrote:muke, consolidate your posts into one. Or edit if you have something to say that you forgot. Do it again, and I will make you regret it.
And if you have glasses, it will make you do this:
Oh, that's right. To see.
