By accident. I think it had to do with searching for NiGHTs information.

*Resumes lurking*

Google searched something like "can i hav sonic infos plz" about 3/4 years ago, I believe. I think I "joined" the old newsboard in a misguided attempt to garner sympathy for the MoFo's hacking of last year, but considering I barely give a shit about the place now I spend all my time here instead. With a username and everything.

And I have gimmicks. Go me. :)

I stumbled here shortly after the first photos of Sonic Adventure had been released. You know, the ones of Sonic in the Lost World temple and Tails flying in Speed Highway? I was looking madly for MORE INFORMATION and I wound up on the GHZ forums. :)

I actually came here through a link from Sonic HQ during the release of Sonic Adventure 2 when my interest in Sonic on the 'net was...somewhat reborn. I do remember that the GHZ had a button on the SHQ splash page back then and around the SHQ's link page, GHZ was one of the more popular sites that got a lot of hits.

I mostly lurked and just viewed info that I didn't even know about various Sonic Team games. I didn't formerly post on the previous message board 'til early 2003.

Green Gibbon, you told me about it a long time ago. Back when Sega had a chat that was okay and also via some other Sonic fan chats we met. You told me about the site and I came. Yes, quite long ago.

I don't remember how I cam to be here so much as when. And by when I mean "somewhere in a three year block of time." (middle school) Five or six years ago I would guess. I remember this place being called the Neo GHZ or something like that. I posted once on the forums a while ago (defined as "somewhere in a four year block of time" - high school) and promptly had Isambard hand my ass to me on a silver plate.

The names "Knuckles Dawson" "Segaholic2" (I think) and "Popcorn" (maybe?) I had all remembered from the GameFAQs SA2 general board. When this new fancy board showed up, I decided to actually start posting for reals.

Then why isn't your name BatKnux? SuperKnux implies a relation to Clark Kent, not Bruce Wayne?

Heck - even RobKnux, or NightKnux. HuntKnux? SpoilerKnux?

Good God, for a solitary brooding figure - Batman has an ASSLOAD of sidekicks.

I'm like Batman. Doesn’t essentially mean I am Batman.

And yes, he does have an assload of sidekicks. And timelines. And universes. And a couple of Robins.

It's part of his secret identity so his enemies don't know who he really is. Duh.

Batman is just paranoid enough to pose as Superman for a secret identity.

I met met Segaholic through AIM after finding his screen name on Gamefaqs about a year after the Dreamcast launched. Around the time SA2 came out he made his gay SA2 Faq page and on it he had a link here. I started posting, then got insulted a bunch and took the hint and left. Then started posting again under a different alias a few weeks later and didn't get yelled at.... well not as much. Good times.

I remember lurking around the time when you first started posting, LS. And I remember when you started under your current alias.

What was the deal with Isambard and the newbie thing back then, anyway? I vaguely recall some big brouhaha between "newbies" and "veterans" or something. I don't know. But it was a really big thread, which was kind of rare on the old board.

Anyone care to share details?

Isambard just always had some sort of personal vendetta against newbies, whether they were stupid or not. It was pretty funny. Don't ask me why he did it. I guess he just got his kicks from making poor kids cry over the internet.

It was the superb name, SonicFan8786. And we still treat most newbs like shit until they behave how we wnat them too. Isambard never gave me shit as Light Speed, well not for being new anyway. Even after I told you all who I originally was.

That was right about when he stopped harassing them, I think. Then he just disappeared.

It was funny because Isambard was harrassing the newbs as if he'd been around forever, and he hasn't been.

As if being new or old has anything to with what you have to say. I never really understood that concept of internet communities, in general.

Regardless, I don't think the GHZ is all that bad to 'newbies' (at least, not recently). Just to retards.
