Is my entry the unfinished version or the one I posted an hour later in the art thread? :)

It's the original one, but I can change it to the finished one in a bit if you want.

Steel-cage match.

I had a hard time picking between Adamis, Opa-Opa and Radrappy. Shouldn't surprise me, really, I'm a sucker for the 2D levels portrayed in 3D space.

In the end, I decided to go with Opa's. Rappy gets major points for providing a response to the "What did Knuckles do during that whole time?" question that I never asked out loud, but the grandiose portrayal of the first zone, and managing to make Sonic—always portrayed in an outspoken manner—a subtlety just impressed me.

You all made me think about the whole thing damn long and hard, though. Congrats across the board for that.

I have updated both of your entries to be your newer ones.

NO MORE CHANGES DAMN IT. DON'T ASK!

Thanks Dack! I actually had to screenshot all the first act to so I could know exactely where to put those hills, rocks and flying platforms.

I was choosing between opa's and senbei's. Both really capture sonic's speed and general attitude. In the end I did go with the comic style as the fluidity and motion are more up my ally.

Opa I give you mad mad props for referencing screen shots for the level LAYOUT. Holy crap.

Damn my limited knowledge of english slang...
Urban Dictionary: mad props

a large amount of props (congratulations)

Mad props to you for your performance, it was the shit!
Thanks Rad!

Damn, that was a hard one. Quite easily half of them could've won but the clickin' finger sez Opa 'cos it's just so gorgeous. And like Dack said, I almost didn't notice Sonic was even in the scene.

There were about five I had a really hard time choosing between, but I think I'm gonna have to go with Radrappy. I mean after all I am currently using both of them as my wallpaper. Yay for two monitors.

I wish I had two monitors so I wouldn't have that doubt. But I think I'm going for the Doomsday Zone as a wallpaper.

What is the answer to that question? Stare up into the sky and look like a badass?

They are all so good. Going to go with Opa Opa's because it just looks so nice.

Redrappy's is by far the best. That's a kickass bit of work.

Though Radrappy's is badass and opa-opa's is beautiful, Senbei's seems to convey the perfect feel of Sonic.

This was genuinely a difficult choice! Ultimately, though, I went with Opa Opa's - it was a neat idea to focus on a location rather than a character or an action and that makes it stick out to me.

And, of course, it just looks good.

It was hard to choose, but in the end I went for Opa-opa's. I love the feeling of serenity it emits. I wanted to vote for Radrappy's, G. Silv's, DBurraki's, and Jamie Lee's too, but a choice had to be made, I suppose...

The rest of you should vote for my work. 95% of votes for my entry go to charity!

I agonized over it for quite a bit, but I went with Opa Opa's in the end. It's so picturesque!

Very tough call, a lot of great entries.

I would have voted Radrappy's if it was just the Doomsday half, but the Knuckles part greatly detracts from the image as a whole. It doesn't look like much thought was given to the composition of the two scenes together, there's no transition or anything. As it is Knuckles hogs the centre of the image, thus drawing the most attention, which is unfortunate as he's the least intereseting part.

DBurraki's is top notch "poster" art. Probably the most on-model entry of the lost. The composition is excellent, only let down by the awkward looking Metal Sonic and the Death Egg II which isn't very clear and is too similar of Eggman's silhouette in the centre, it throws off the balance. The characters are just posing, but they're interesting poses. I like the colouring, especially the space effect, but shine on the big white parts of the eyes just doesn't work.

Opa Opa's is delightful, Sonic as a character works incredibly well in a wide open space and I love the undetailed pseudo-pastel style. However it is rather sparse, where are the robots, the animals, the point markers, the rings, the item boxes, the checkered patterns? Too many shortcuts.

So in the end I voted for DBurraki's.

I had to pick out trivial things to base my decision on. I turned down G.Silver because of the weird angles of Sonic and Metal Sonic's quills and uncomfortable perspective. Jamie Lee's is great quality, but there's an ugly water mark in Amy's eye, no background, and I believe the position of the characters is taken straight from official art. Opa-opa's is peaceful and beautiful, but a little too sparse for me and the water coloring looks a little sloppy. I don't particularly like Rappy's to be honest. The coloring of the ground on Knuckles's side is unpleasant and according to his post that golden comet is supposed to be Super Metal Sonic, in which case he loses points for not actually drawing the character.

At first I was going to vote for DBurraki without hesitation, but now that I look at it again it has this obnoxious Saturday morning WB cartoon look. I've decided to vote for it anyway though. It's shiny.
