Dang, that whole thing I found rather touching. I think mainly I was just remembering something sad that happened to me that was not really related.

Klonoa's ending remains the saddest thing I have ever seen in a game.

What about crying because the game is so terrible?

The ending to Klonoa was heart-wrenching. The song made it sadder. The ending to Klonoa 2 was comparatively lame, but it's not like they could've topped the first one anyway.

I also thought Mail's death in Willy Wombat was rather moving, only I guess because it was so completely unexpected. I think I'm one of the only four people in the world who played Willy Wombat, though.

That's pretty much what happened to me. I couldn't stop laughing throughout the entire procedure, up until it dematerialized.

And yeah, MGS3's ending was pretty sobering, too. I didn't realize that I was supposed to shoot manually, so I just stood there for about 5 minutes, really gave the whole scene time to sink in.

What happened at the end of MGS3? All I remember is The Boss showing some cleavage and me sneaking around in a bunch of flowers.

I vote the Sonic 2 ending. The music made me cry every single time up until about, like, 2 weeks ago. Other than that, Sonic games have always been a bit lax on the ol' emotional baggage.

A hard choice between Gamma and the Chao, but I went with Gamma eventually.
I mean, you experience his whole life, you're there at his creation, then you go through his enlightenment when he breaks free of his programming, when he goes to free his "brothers" and ultimately his sacrifice.

The guy has such an important and pivotal part in the story, develops a well rounded character in such a short space of time.
But, and this is a big but, he only lives/exists for about 3 days, that's a sacrifice and a half.

It really got me thinking about how Motobugs feel.

Played through Gamma's chapter again last night and, yeah, Gamma's ending definitely tugged at the heartstrings for me, if only because I liked his character design, general storyline, and theme song so very much.

Silent Hill's ending also gets to me, but that's another topic...

The main game ending I can think of that really got to me was actually the FFX one, which is odd because the game wasn't really anything special. I think it was mainly because of how amazing the music was during it.

The only emotion close to sadness I can think of I've really felt with Sonic is the horrific depression and disappointment I felt playing through SA for the first time.

Yeah, it's hard to keep a straight face once EVA starts sobbing on the recording.
Now, by saddest moment in games overall... I'd have to pick... you know what? I'll post it when I remember.

I absolutely understand Gamma, but the Chao massacre? Are people really being serious? accidentally massacring chao in Shadow the Hedgehog was more horrifying, especially since I didn't expect it.

I'd have to say that my saddest Sonic related moment was when Sega announced it was going 3rd party.

The time a friend of mine accedently deleted all of my save data in S&K3.

Otherwise, Gamma gets my vote.

Shadow's ending in SA2 would've been up there if he hadn't come back. No one seems to have the balls to kill off a major character and leave him/her for dead these days.

The mystic mansion, in the room full of chao set off a Chaos Blast right in the midst of them. Or you can stand still and they will snuggle you.

I couldnt deside between Gemmas and Shadows ending.

I wish I voted Gamma but did`nt. I voted shadow. I cried at both.

Well, she falls over, starts talking about something, and then you shoot her. Sounds flaccid in text, but it was pretty powerful the first time through.

Oh, and then there was Eva's message where she tells Snake of her mission and whatnot, can't recall most of the details.

Also, I played Klonoa yesterday, beat it later that night. A good game overall, but the ending didn't strike any chords. I'm sure it would've been much more saddening if I cared about Huepow. His only purpose up until you reach the Moon Kingdom is to regurgitate everything Klonoa says, or vice-versa. Not to say that it wasn't a decent ending, though.

EDIT: Just watched the ending again. I must've been too tired to appreciate the scene last night, because something clicked this time around. Nothing tear-worthy, but touching nonetheless.

You've never played the original Silent Hill?

McCloud, I want to like you very badly, but you're making it ever so hard.

Or you can wait till they snuggle you before firing a Chaos Blast.
Yeah, I don't know either.
