I'm so buying Nintendogs...gr4yJ4Y wrote:I perfer cats just because they're calmer and have a deeper personality. Dogs are harder to deal with and are rather shallow animals in comparison.
We once had to look after a friend of the family's dog while they were on vacation. We looked after him at our house. He tore up furniture and chewed up (human toys). And barked at every little thing.
But we once looked after another dog who just kinda wondered back and forth threw the house all day. My cat was terribled of him, but he was very calm. Just not too exciting.

I lost two cats in the span of several days last November.
See, my cat Nico was hit by a car in our cul-de-sac during a neighbors party. And then, Nico's mother, Lyra ran out several nights later to look for Nico and was probably picked off by coyotes.
I'd had both of the cats since they were kittens, so I was pretty down about it. I miss 'em.

I have two cats as well, both were strays that just came up to my door and wouldn't leave (or stop meowing) for days, so I let them in. Also, both of them seemed to be victims of abuse (one didn't have her stitches removed from being spayed and the other was horribly afraid of feet, meaning that it must have been kicked at some point).

Cats are universally better. I have some sort of unusual luck with cats, which I can't say I have with dogs.
I don't have a cat, though. I do have a panophobic dog. She drives me insane, and is always trying to eat my sister's guinea pigs or run through mud in the woods. I love her anyway, but I'd prefer a cat anyday.
Shit...that rhymed.

I like both but I'm going to go with dogs on this one seeing that I actually owned a dog and she was a great companion for all 14 years of her life. It's pretty depressing when you lose a pet especially when you clearly remember her as a bounding, active puppy and then over the years she grows up before you and pretty soon she's a old dog with serious arthritical problems and who is more fragile than she used to be. =(

Critics are saying this about Light Speed's post--Light Speed wrote:I saw a dog that looked just like my old dog today. I wanted to go hug it, but I thought that might be weird since it was some guys dog. It made me sad, but then I remembered my new dog and that made me a little happier.
