Don't be afraid to submit something because you think it's not good enough or whatever. Entering anything is better than entering nothing. Also, you can invite your friends to join the forum and vote for you. Be shameless; it is a contest after all.

Everyone in the whole damn world can enter, but they have to sign up for the Forum first because otherwise they can't post.

Holic, I think this is backfiring.

Backfiring? What was the forwardfire supposed to be?

QUESTION:
Could it be Sonic fighting a fan character? Or does it strictly have to be just Sonic verse?

Bringing competent artists onto the scene? Not that I'm saying that the people who've come since are incompetent - even the guy who joined immediately saying "my grammar is not good" at least is a good artist, best I can tell. But then, Del's the one [possibly] saying it, not me.

means post your questions about the contest and your entries for the contest into this thread and this thread only. It is not indicating you should post your questions about entries in this thread and this thread only, in addition to your questions about the contest. I think this is the mistake being made.
Many many thanks Locit.

It's been a week since this thread was posted. We have three entries into the "good art" category, and none in the "bad art" category. There is only one week left to enter the contest, so hurry up!

Here's a Sonic related entry for the "BAD ART" section:

It reminds me of early Sonic fangames made with Click n' Play.

Thank God fangames don't suck this badly anymore.

Well, the highest tiers of them, at any rate. It's funny to think that there was, at some time, a point where that kind of thing WAS the highest tier.

They don't suck anymore because they HAVE TO NOT SUCK. Sonic Robo Blast 2 set the bar for what is expected out of fan games these days. And unlike Sonic Team, the fan game creators realize that when people complain about your game, and when the competition is beating you, you have to make a quality product.

And these people do it for free.

SEGA, WTF is wrong with you!?

Don't fret segaholic. I'm sure most of us are holding out until the last minute to post our artwork. Mine is actually pretty much done but I'm waiting until later to post it.

Also regarding fangames, I havent played many to be sure (Only roboblast so far) and I'm sure some of them are good. I just can't get past the lameness of fangames as a concept in general. It's like sewing together old sonig levels to make some weird ass frankenstein of a game. Makes me shudder.

Frankenstein was the doctor.

Regardless, the end results tend to come out looking muy bien, so the mutilation concept's a moot point, really.
