Edit: THAT'S why Sonic games have sucked so bad recently! After that pic was taken, I bet MJ and our blue hero had a little "quality time" together to get to know each other. Now, years after that happened, Sonic finally realized what happened and has become suicidal and has no will to be that fun anymore! Sure he may seem happy, but inside, he's a sad, mislead hedgehog.

Let's face it... Sega has really never been a success at all. Besides the Genesis and the Sonic the hegehog series, just about everything else they've done has sucked (maybe not as far as creativity or gameplay goes, just financially). Sega CD failed, Sega 32X failed, Sega Saturn failed, Sega Dreamcast failed, and they're not doing too great right now. I love the company to death, but it seems sorta like they're cursed.

You forgot the failure of the Master System.

And even with the success of the Genesis, Nintendo managed to outsell about 1.5x as much SNES(es) to Genesis(es).

Sega does seem to be cursed. Well, they still seem to be successful in the Arcades or so I have heard.

Actually, Sega has been consistantly making a profit since they went third party, of course, that profit still hasen't erased all their debts, but now with Sammy onboard, those debts are as good as gone.

If anything, the debt behind them, it may allow them to be more creative because they are no longer chasing losses.

In Satomi's words, Sega Sammy holdings will "focus on planning and administration, delegating explicit authorities and responsibilities to subsidiaries, in order to achieve the optimization of group management."

Over the next three years, however, that collaboration looks to substantially change the structure of the two companies, especially with regard to their console and arcade game business. In the arcade arena, the two companies plan to work together to increase their market presence and earnings, building and operating more and larger arcade locations in Japan and elsewhere. I think the logo is LAAAAAAAAAMEr than Sonic Heroes, but who gives a shit anyhow? It'll be a 1.5cm^2 box on the corner of videogame cases. It won't drastically change my life as long as they get their act together and churn out some decent gameage.

They were basically, but the Master System had a couple of small extra features, something with FM sound, rapid fire, and 3D glasses. Mostly stuff that was never utilized.
