Seeing that no one has mentioned it yet, <<here's a video of the demo.>> (Right click, Save Target As...)

Tech demo or no, that Sonic DS looks mighty fine for a handheld, bizarre controls notwithstanding.

CONGRATULATION!

Man I love the Japanese. ^^

Well, they did make a huge announcement: Nintendo DS... just a little late...

Even if there were a universal "console" standard, there would be a bunch of different companies manufacturing the same hardware, each with slightly different features. And how would we know when to move on? Standards like VCRs and DVDs last as much as two decades, but game consoles shift every 5 years. A universal console would mean the end of clean-cut "generations" and we'd be down to upgrading.

So basically, a universal console would be a PC, which I ain't down with.
Yes, you're right, one note is:

NES, SNES, N64, GCN

GB, GBC, GBA

GG

SM3, GEN, SAT, DC

It seems more cool with generation thing, I mean, we can look back and say "remember the Sega Mega Drive?" his idea wasn't thought about of too much about making an all that stuff system

I haven't seen the Sonic candy bars either. I used to work at a candy store and had the regional manger try to find them for me, but he didn't have any luck.

Anyway, yeah, I'm really looking forward to the DS myself because like pretty much has said already, it's something different and it isn't relying on "specs" and "power" and other crap. Though, I hope they have some actual games to show us soon besides tech demos. Well, I think that the Mario and Mertiod games might end up becoming real games. Maybe they did show something or I'm just missing out.

I've considered getting a job at a candy store, but there's one pivotal bit of information I need to know: are you allowed to eat the candy that falls on the floor?

Well obviously you can't sell it. I doubt the owner would care, just don't let the customers see you.

Not completely true. I know someone who worked at Chuck E. Cheese's and I heard they dropped stuff on the floor and still served it...Eeww...

At Chuck E. Cheese's you're screwed whether it's been on the floor or not.
Well obviously you can't sell it. I doubt the owner would care
Not necessarily. The company would rather throw the product away than let an employee take it, because then you'd start deliberately tossing candy on the floor. Of course, if you're going to toss candy on the floor, you'd have to do it when nobody's looking, so you may as well sneak a couple of fresh gummy worms. But corporations like these usually have retarded policies.

Does the Trigun one taste like Vash? Because, um... nevermind.

Nah, The Trigun bar is just pure Milk Chocolate. They each are a different type of chocolate bar, actually.

Well, chocolate does come from cocoa beans (a plant) and milk. So I guess it would be in the realm of possibility that Vash could taste like chocolate.

At least near his nipples.

Mmm . . .

That plus better have something on it worth being...plussable....

I wonder what the chances are for a PC port after all this is over and done.

Yeah, of course. Heck, we were even allowed to eat the candy that didn't fall on the floor.

Of course, that must be another tactic. Let them have all they want and they'll get sick of it within the first week. Heheheh, but they've never met me...

What he said. But it is most likely that he got them at a con.

All of those titles seem to be licenced by <strike>Pioneer</strike> Geneon, but I want to know the name of the candy company that made and distributed those bars.

Those are distributed by the Foreign Candy Company. I don't think they have any of their own brands, but they sell those same chocolate bars minus the anime-licensed wrappers to charity drives.

I'm generally not picky when it comes to candy, but those bars are actually quite generic. Only the wrappers carry the pretty anime pictures, the chocolate within consists of plain squares and is rather bland.

Sonic....THE ONE?

I saw the Sonic DS tech demo long time ago, and while the gameplay and controls were retarded, The premise isn't so bad. I mean these days, movie games are about as caturing the experience of being a character as much possible. So what would a game like when you access all of Sonic's moves and abilites? I mean if he would be super-fast, wouldn't the world slow down around him, opening tons of new level possibilities when in this mode...or it could just be the 3-D version of The Boost Mode from SAdv2, but that's just me?
