When do they reveal he uses a tank for 70% of the game because it's just tooo HARD to design levels where you travel fast?

If you let this game break your heart you deserve to have it broken. At this point, it's guilty until proven innocent.

Sonic Unleashed 2: This time the Werehog is in 2D. Also, cameos from regular old Sonic.

I'm assuming Unleashed counts as #3?

"ALL NEW 2D ADVENTURE"
"SPEED RETURNS"
"BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP"
"A RETURN TO SONIC'S ROOTS!"

That teaser is like a desperate plea from Sega to bring back every older Sega/Sonic fan they've lost over the past 15 years.

"PLEASE BUY THIS GAME! WE PROMISE IT WILL BE GOOD THIS TIME!"

I would be at least cautiously interested if there were any mention of momentum-based gameplay in the pr-speak. However, there isn't, so the franchise is still dead to me.

That trailer is just cringeworthy. It feels like they're really desperate to win back the old fans who've long since abandoned this franchise.

Yeah.

Did I mention "speed returns" really worries me? :(

Also if this image turned out to be real, I actually would start to care and get my hopes up!

(It be noted that I never played Sonic Genesis.)

^It's supposed to be an "all new adventure built from the ground up", not a remake.

SEGA released a fake trailer.

A big joke we are all playing on you.

Hey, if they just rip off metal slug, that'd actually be pretty awesome.
Imagine a faster version of metal slug.... *breathes deeply*
On a serious note, I'm hoping for the traditional invincible player 2 tails, or else it's not Classic Sonic...

Well, the recent 2-D Sonics have been pretty decent, with Rush and Rush Adventure having been pretty good in my eyes, so this is better news for me then say, Unleashed 2 or another Storybook entry, but.....knowing Sega, they probably made that trailer last week and started work on the game like, today.

The fact they announced this on the 10th anniversary of the Dreamcast only serves as a reminder as to how far they've sunk since then ;_;

Who's saying it's not another Story Book entry. Those green hills in that teaser site look to be channeling Alice in Wonderland. The Disney version at least
