The general theme of the wallpaper around the room, as you all know by now of course, is Sonic 4. Is it sad to note my first thought on seeing that boost pad was that it was going to cause a hell of a shitstorm on Retro as soon as someone on the board saw it?

If they ever do another spinoff (which is probably a bad marketing move right now), I'd love to see a Knuckles-centric game in the style of Wario Land. Only more vertically-oriented levels.

Actually, even though it's never (as far as I know) had anything made of it in the games, all Sega's modern bios for Knuckles say he's a treasure hunter. Which makes no sense since he's lived on a single island his whole life, so even if there were any treasure left for him to find, where would he put it?

So, it looks like Dimps is handling Sonic 4. I thought Sonic Rush Adventure was great -- much better than any of their previous titles -- but it was a wildly different beast than the original Sonic games. I wonder if they have learned enough to pull off the classic formula, or if we are just going to get another Sonic Advance.

I just noticed something: this screenshot and this screenshot have different-looking Sonic models (both of which are cel-shaded, I noticed). Could SEGA actually be pandering to the BAWWWWWWWs of the "purists"? (I for one hope not, that last thing we need is to throw those morons a bone)

That's definitely a more classic-proportioned Sonic. Then again, since these are leaked shots obtained from an anonymous tipster, I suppose it could be a model they decided not to use. (Or a fake!)

That video is, uh... pretty rough looking... but I guess it's not fair to judge a game by a leaked video of an alpha build.
