On that note, does anybody else remember those Sonic novels from way back when? I had "In Robotnik's Laboratory" and "In the Fourth Dimension". I remember them being awesome, though I wonder if I would think so now with the advantage of experience and cynicism.

And the adventure books, too. Oh man, I had some good fucking times doing those with my dad.

I have the one about Knuckles. It is like SatAM mixed with Adventures, based on the game. It is good for kids, I guess; I would not bother reading it now.

I remember a really old Mario novel in the children's section of our local library. If I remember correctly, it concerned Mario escaping from a haunted house or something. Nothing like books based on videogames to get the kids to read.

Perhaps they'll do a storybook series entry on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hy- oh, wait!

Seriously, my money is on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland for the next Storybook game. The surreal environment would sorta compliment the pre-Adventure visual style, there'd be enough characters for most of the Sonic crew to cameo, and the story elements and environments could fun to tinker with. (Fer' instance, instead of a talking sword, Sonic gains the ability to shrink or grow at certain points in the game, instantly adding to the complexity and depth of the stages. The only foreseeable drawback is that most people would probably berate the game for "copying" the gimmick from TLoZ: The Minish Cap).

It's 6:15 AM. I'm up extremely lat- Er... I mean, good morning!

Psssh not like it would be the first time people compared a Sonic gimmick to a Zelda one.

So, we've had Sonic characters sporting guns, swords, motorcycles, and hoverboards. I wonder what other extreme accessories we can bog them down with while simultaneously introducing a new gameplay gimmick.

Eggman as the Queen of Hearts (lol)?
Cream as the White Rabbit?
Shadow as the Caterpillar?
Knuckles as the Mad Hatter and...uh...Cream's mum as the March Hare?
Blaze as the Cheshire Cat?

This doesn't fucking work at all.

I love it.

Well, admittedly no, it doesn't. Keep in mind it was extremely late (early) when I had this brilliant flash of inspiration, and that it's an idea for a freakin' Sonic storybook game.

Yeah! In keeping with the Sonic Storybook tradition, the Queen of Hearts' role would be reserved for some new generic Final Fantasy knock-off character.

It's comforting to know that some things will never change.

As far as characters go, I thought that Cream would make a rather appropriate Alice, and Big would be a humorous White Rabbit-type. Blaze could somehow be the Cheshire Cat. That's all I got for now.

No, no, Cream is the White Rabbit and Big is the Cheshire Cat. As for Alice? Sonic, clearly (although he needn't dress like her, of course).

Alternatively, they could make an actual Sonic game and not keep pumping out this stuff.

Anyone notice how the grass in this game is way better than Unleashed on 360? Like it is actually grass, not just paper sticking out of the ground with grass drawn on it.

Yeah because grass is good for you

I want a decent Sonic game, cant sega do one at least every ten years or something? I liked Sonic Adventure, but that was made in 1998. Is been more than ten years damn it!

Well, a lot of people on these boards (myself included) thought that Sonic Unleashed was a decent game, despite the Werehog and Chip. And it was released in 2008. So there's your decennial decent Sonic game.

Also, Sonic Adventure 2 and even Sonic Heroes were decent, even if they're the point where the series began to meander into dangerous territory. Also, I think you forgot about the Rush titles. That's just my opinion, of course.

Sorry for double posting, but I have to say this: Ten years is too long to wait for anything, especially a video game.

You can still do other stuff while you wait. Waiting does not really cost anything.

Time is money, but money is the root of all evil. Therefore, it is safe to say that time is the root of all evil. Fuck time. Waste it all you like.
