-Use sword while running, which makes it feel like you're playing a Sonic game with a sword, not a sword game with Sonic.
-The level they played had villangers you could talk to and save, which makes the game's stages feel like levels and adventure fields all in one, which they say is an awesome approach and they love how the levels are real open-ended.
-They like the part Sonic uses his sword to go down the wall, and demand SEGA do this on a curtain in the game.

That's about it, but there are no scans yet.
Hmm. From what I'm hearing, it sounds like this will not be on rails like a lot of people here previously thought. Also, it sounds like there will be some exploration elements involved.

Ah Thank goodness I don't want another Secret Rings! I really hope all this is true, The curtain cutting sounds like a cool idea if done right!

Seriously, are we trusting GamePro for smart, reliable journalism? Since when?

Here's the scan. Not once in there is a word about them loving anything. You're a goddamn liar. In fact I doubt they even got hands on time with it.

Well, the first paragraph says that they're excited so maybe that's what he meant?

"Excited" to be offered a hands-on preview from Sega if they promise to not say anything bad?

I also mentioned at the very beginning of my post that I hadn't seen the pages for myself, thus, how could I be a liar, when I was only relaying information that I had previously heard from a different source?

Yeah, but passing off second-hand knowledge as fact is a terrible idea in general.

If you remove Sonic from those screenshots, you wouldn't even think that this was a Sonic game.

Oh well, at least for a technical standpoint it looks nice.

You're right heheh, I miss all those crazy patterns from the old days, is like if Mario no longer had Hill with eyes ect...but instead had realistic buildings and mountains.

At least Unleash has some colorful and good designs, although it CAN be way better, but i bet it is kinda hard for 3d?

It's harder to be creative in 3D? That's news to me.

Not at all, I really meant hard for them...it seems they do not understand the style of classic Sonic or they just don't didn't like it, So when Oshima and friends left they could finally made their "ideal" Sonic world they always wanted, a photo realistic one.

Given all the cartoony people walking around town, I'd be very hard-pressed to call this game "photo-realistic".

Mecha Knuckles returns in this game?

That second screenshot is how I see the world when not wearing corrective eyewear.
