Although I do kind of sort of miss the option, I'll be frank... I always played the games with English VAs, anyway. I probably would keep doing so, too, even if they're voiced by 4Kids.

I mean, Brawl doesn't even have Japanese voice actors (meaning I can't hear "LANDOMASTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" :< ), so, look, even Nintendo doesn't give a rat's ass.

Multiple language tracks should ideally be featured as standard.

BUT. This is just a TENNIS game. For fuck's sake.

I think they're mostly starting to do that now. You may recall that secret rings and zero gravity had the option. (as well as subtitles.) IMHO, there's no reason not to include them. Space isn't really an issue, after all.

No, it's called "tennis game". I can understand the desire for a certain caliber of voice actor when the characters are delivering lines with emotion and whatnot, but if you can't stand to hear an occasional "Aw, I lost!" in English, I'd suggest just turning the sound off. Put on a good album instead. The game will still be fun.

A certain group of hackers has found the secret Japanese voicetrack in the American versions of both SEGA Superstars Tennis and Super Smash Bros. Brawl and came up with a simple way to unlock it and use it in the game.
All the info is here.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who think the entire Sonic franchise is "shit nobody cares about."

Do anyone else's eyes burn while playing the demo, or is it just me...

Yesterday I saw a new copy of SEGA Superstars Tennis for Wii for only $20 at GameStop if anyone was interested in it, but were waiting for the price to go down.

I was considering getting it, but then remembered those decent-sized piles of unpaid bills and games I haven't played through yet.

$10? That's, like, a tenner. I bought mine for full price when I was drunk. Sad face.

I have yet to get a copy of my own. I was wondering, on which platform would this game be the most enjoyable?

Wii lacks online capability but has a Wii-Sports tennis style of swing-the-wii-mote-anyway-you-want-and-the-character-will-swing waggling. Gimmicks vs. internet pricks. Other than that, I guess whichever platform has the prettiest graphics.

As per usual, I'm assuming we're scoffing at the DS version.

I don't think anyone noticed, but I was so carried away with the whole tenner thing I put $10 instead of $20. $10 would be a fiver. Hypothetical bigger sad face.

Apparently the DS version is poo.

The PS2 version is the Wii version without the whole motion control thing and its pretty good. Or so I have heard.

I was talking to someone who had the Wii version of SST and he didn't like it (not responsive enough) and managed to get the PS3 version for free (it was one of those free versions they give to shops to demo or something) and loved it.

I own the 360 and I love it. Little disc of goodness.

The Wii version works well with (too many W's noooooo) the remote/nunchuck controls, but annoyingly you can only play this way in tournaments, as the game forces you to play it NES-style for the challenges, of which there are many.

Also, do those challenges ever end? I'm trying to do it systematically, like clearing each stage one by one, but after finishing all the Sonic ones and scrolling down to see two more waiting there, hiding like wood lice, I gave up on the whole thing.

Yes they do. Some of them (like the "Golden Axe" stage) have only one challenge, to boot! I don't think any of them have more than 20 challenges, and Sonic had the most IIRC.
