So this totally says there IS a Burning Rangers 2 in the works, what with no Tillis... or even a new JSR?
Silver keeps appearing because the Sega executives are uncapable of relating Sonic 2K6's suckitude with Silver's suckitude, which is actually right, but I'd personally prefer that they baleeted that ridiculous clone of a clone.
And those mechs look sleek.
Sonic character rosters has nothing to do with game quality, it has more to do with recent usage. Seeing as how Silver's locked away in the future and he never met Sonic or Shadow when hit came to punch, he will probably either be subject to some lame-plot bending to keep him in bounds, (but I highly doubt it considering that his gameplay was such a stumbling block for the developers) or fade out relatively quickly. My money's on the latter, but whether or not he'll be replaced by a bronze hedgehog from the center of the earth but really from a parallel world! remains to be seen.
I almost got excited about the line-up, really, before I realized that these are just the unlockables augmenting the line-up from not just STK, but the bird fucks as well. God, that was a nice moment before reality gave me the ol' one-two-bitchslap.
EDIT: Friggin' board revamp de-spoilerification.

"Reminded" is a nice way of putting "borderline plagiarism", but they do their best work when they're ripping off other sources instead of trying to pull shit out of their own asses. I've concluded that their asses are danker than most. Use extreme caution when buttbanging a Sonic Team employee, your dick may get lost in a stray plothole.
There seemed to be more effort than that typically utilized for a meager spin-off exerted into that opening, actors excluded. Hopefully that applies to the gameplay as well; and those snowball stretches make me hopeful.
I don't take back anything I've said about the gear being ugly, but ugly with character is better than a soulless x-treme blind demographic grab.
But English voices? That's usually pretty close to the end, isn't it? When's this bitch come out?
The promo art is fucking ugly. Everyone is coated in shiny gloss, Cream looks like she's the same age as the rest of the crew, and the robots actually make me miss the dorky designs from the previous Riders.
I bought Zero Gravity the day it came out, but I've barely played it, to be honest. I can't seem to get into it, which surprises me considering how much I enjoyed the first Riders. I think the main problem is the controls; I'm just not into the whole steering wheel thing. However, I just read that the Wii version supports the GameCube controller (I don't recall seeing that mentioned in-game), so maybe I need to give that a shot to see if it changes how I feel about it.
I was afraid that when the first Riders came out, I desperately wanted a decent Sonic game so badly, that I took a lousy game and learned to love it. So, I really owe Zero Gravity some gratitude for showing me that I enjoyed the first Riders because it was solidly enjoyable, and that I can still recognize utter shit when I play it, no matter how good I want it to be. Everyone who somehow thought the first one was terrible, ZG is the bottom dropping out.
What kills me is they've taken everything that was crisp and fun about the first Riders and made it ambiguous, blurry and awkward. But, hey, you know Sega's MO: If it ain't broke, break it.
I pray to God Bioware's RPG does well and Sega just puts Sonic on the auctioning block and into some capable hands while he still has a cent to his name.
The Riders outfits are still in the game, just not in story mode. Amy wears her Riders outfit during free-race, multiplayer, and any other mode that's there.
I rented this game, and I gotta say - they fixed pretty much everything that was wrong with it. The gravity system really makes it feel like a unique game, there's no more goofy getting kicked off your board for not doing enough tricks, there aren't any "whoops, you went off the railing and now you're fucked" sequences, because most tracks now have rails and even if they don't you can use gravity to pause and turn in mid-air, and the tracks are a lot more diverse. The only thing that keeps me from fulling recommending this game is the still rather paltry number of tracks which really limits re playability and interest.
