Aww, the Pians are even cuter in this one. They actually look a lot like Chao. I hope you can raise them.

They do look completely horrid, maybe it's a work-in-progress shot of some kind. Whatever, I think it wasn't a pretty good idea to show them, unless I'm missing something from the awesome translation... what I clearly understand is that SEGA'll explore the wiimote's and nunchuks' capabilities to simulate star-spangling.

If they looked any more like ass, ass would have to sue them for copyright infringement.

Time to bring out the old cliche, that really looks like an N64 game. And not a very good one. Why so flat and lifeless?

The pians and everything about them infuriates me to no end. I mean, sure, the environments are bland as all Limbo, but I'd only be severely pissed over that if the pians weren't so ugly. I mean, we've already got 3D pians, where could they have gone wrong?

Also, during my visit to GG!'s NiGHTS page whilst searching for a suitable 3D pian image, the screenshots therein reminded me of just how bland this game's art direction really is- it all just doesn't work when the backgrounds aren't taking precedence.

Oh, good, 1up has impressions of some of the different modes from the game:
We've seen a level where Helen (one of two characters you pick from when you start the game) takes to the land and has to collect 200 balls as a platforming challenge, and a river rafting sequence where Will (the other) has to steer his way to the end of a stage.
Sonic Team has literally no idea what gamers want, do they?

This is so an optional, completely irrelevant Mission mode of sorts and NOT the actual game.
I bet my lifetime earnings SEGA won't screw up this thing. Yeah.

They haven't had a clue since Heroes, honestly. At least that had sizable fanservice in the conceptual category, even if the execution was all off. After that came Shadow, and I don't think most gamers wanted that, no.

So yeah, they're not optional. In fact, when have any Sonic Team games featured alternative gameplay styles that were actually optional?

I must be hallucinating because I could of swore there was a stupid post here a moment ago.

Anyway, I'm hoping that the reason the pian stage thing look so flat and CRAP is because

1. It's a prototype or beta or something
2. It's part of that "My Dream" thing, and the reason it's so plain is because "My Dream" is customizable and that's the uncustomized one. or something.

Wait, why the hell do I have hope?!

Okay, correction, I'm morbidly entertaining the idea of those two points.

One assumes that you do not have Jackle because you do not have the original game. Thus:

1. Purchase Saturn
2. Purchase original NiGHTS Into Dreams...
3. Play game
4. ???
5. Jackle!

tons of new videos posted at 1up

http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId= ... sec=VIDEOS

I guess my only actual complaint (a pretty big one) is that the level design looks a bit boring. There aren't any alternate paths from what I saw in these videos and the enemies and rings are too far apart. There should never be periods of just coasting from point A to point B in this game. Also the perspective change transitions are sucky as are the climbing up the chain, fusing with Nights sequences. DELAY THIS GAME!!!!
