Nights and SRA both look utterly embarassingly shit and like neither development team has a fucking clue what they're doing.

Mario and Sonic on the other hand...well so far it's looking fairly decent, visually at least. The style is nice and it feels like there's some effort going into the presentation. Really can't say a lot yet though until we have any idea how it plays.

As a whole though, so far Sega's Nintendo showings are spectacularly shit/mediocre, wooh!

It doesn't look very different from the other olympics games...

Sigh! Sonic and Mario finally cross over... by being pasted into a bunch of bland real-world Olympic facilities to play lame-ass mini-games.

What makes this a Mario or Sonic game exactly, outside of the character models? Five bucks says this title was originally being developed as a regular Olympics game without using either license.

This is the first time I've seen this year's Olympic mascots. Their ubiquitous Carebear/Teletubby facades make this already jarring concept seem like a bad trip.

I don't know man. The Beijing mascots are not nearly as ill-concieved as Izzy.

Heh, you can tell he was created by a Disney animator as he would fit in with The Three Caballeros. I don't see anything really bad about his design except for the concept was a bit cliche.

The Beijing mascots are called the Fuwa, and I think they are the best looking Olympic mascots so far.

They vaguely remind me of some sort of elemental panda bears...I guess it's cool (one for each Olympic Ring and all), but it also screams "CAPTAIN PLANET!" to me. -__-;;

What was the mascot when it was in Canada? A bottle of maple syrup?

Although, to be frank, they all look freakishly like the Blue Badger from Phoenix Wright.

The first two screenshots did exactly what I hoped this game wouldn't do: Pit Mario and Sonic against each other in contests only one of them should win. There's just no fucking way Mario should be competing against Sonic in a race.

I was hoping so hard that the stadiums would at least be located in the mushroom kingdom or GHZ. color me severely disappointed

EDIT: Has anyone else noticed that the audience is made up entirely of Chao and Toads? Now that's totally cool.
