Sonic Napoleon · Sonic the Hedgehog OSTs

Post by big_smile »

Sonic Café - Sonic Napoleon

Another month, another Café game. This time Sonic puts his unique spin on the card game of Napoleon. It doesn't appear to be especially exciting, but it does recycle one of Sonic’s classic poses with the somewhat interesting addition of a Bicorne hat.

The presence of Sonic wearing a Bicorne is making me chuckle.

The cover of Vocal Tracks actually looks kind of cool. Too bad it probably has vocal tracks on it. Come to think of it, nobody's complained about the music in Sonic the Hedgehog yet. Is it any good?

It's pretty good. The last boss music is actually fairly impressive (Zebrahead's annoying rapping actually detracts from the themesong) and Silver's themesong is very impressive. There are a couple of Zone songs I enjoyed, but nothing that stands out two weeks later. I believe I liked Tropical Jungle, though I can't be sure.

Well, hedgehog-wise:

Sonic's Theme (His World - Zebrahead) = Just get rid of the vocals and you have a damn sexy track.

Shadow's Theme (All Hail Shadow - Crush 40) = Not bad.

Silver's Theme (Dreams of an Absolution - Lee summin) = Fucking ownz if you like this kind of music.

He was short enough for a height-related complex to be named after him. The joke was relevant.

Heh, I guess I shouldve said as Short as.

Well, I did some reasearch and Napoleon was actually 5'6, little bit taller than the average french man of those days.

funny how some rumors or jokes alter human mind.

Sonic is unusually tall for a hedgehog, but this may have something to do with the fact that he resides on his hind-legs at all times.

Napoleon wasn't that short; he was well over 5 feet tall. What did you do; hit the Post Reply button the second you saw my reply?

And what does Sonic's height have to do with a fucking card game anyway?

Because the card game is called Sonic Napoleon, and so someone made the connection between the name and the height-related complex that shares it. It was a relevant joke, as already pointed out.

But the post wasn't LITERALLY talking about Napoleon. I mean, the card game isn't affiliated with him, is it?

I'm just grasping at straws to try and justify Tsuyoshi's unequivocal assholeishness.

Nice to know how you feel about me, Baba.

And to answer your question, I don't see a card game has anything to do with Napoleon himself, aside from Sonic wearing a Napoleon-ish hat. That's why I thought SegaSonic's joke was stupid. Another reason for my outburst has to do with SegaSonic's complaining about Sonic's height in Sonic 2006, whining that Sonic didn't look three feet tall in early images and videos. When he mentioned it again here, I snapped.

Web site about the rules of Napoleon;

Yeah, I was being an ass, but far from the first one on these forums.

I wonder if this will have that alternate version of "His World" that was recorded by Zebrahead. Would be nice, at least.

Esrever wrote:Zebrahead recorded an alternate version of this song featuring the entire band. (This version only features the band's two vocalists.) Presumably, the full Zebrahead version will be a rock/punk song like their usual work. Sega seems to have decided not to use this version in the game, but I might be getting a copy of it in the mail in a couple of weeks. I'll be sure to share it with everyone if I get ahold of it.
