I believe similar thoughts were expressed over Sonic Heroes and then again over Shadow the Hedgehog.Shadow Hog wrote: I guess the only place to go from rock bottom is up, right?

That would be your browser; the images are actually twice the size, but I figured nobody wanted their tables stretched (even if most people don't use 1024x768 anymore, it's still possible somebody does), so I made them display at half-size.Tsuyoshi-kun wrote:Why is there such ugly pixelation?
Unless you meant the textures, in which case yeah, no excuse.

They're the only two, right?
Anyway, point missed. It's a racing game. You think you'll be looking at one roadside bush or studying the resolution of the ground texture for any length of time? So there's pixellation in scenery. OMG. A necessary evil if the overall presentation is smooth as a baby's arse.

I generally think the graphics are generic and boring, regardless of whether or not it runs on a fucking portable system. Granted, it's not quite Nintendo DS bad, but it still annoys me. If the game had any smack of decent graphics or ingenuity I'd be more open to pixelation. This is why I can tolerate watching videos of the pixelation fest that is Guardian Heroes on the Saturn.

There's actually a few in there that you didn't post, although I guess he mainly thought of them as new because they're higher res (although this is pointless as high res portable screens aren't usually a great idea since the games are intended to be played on small screens).
Metal Sonic is actually looking fairly decent, a lot better than his hideous Heroes incarnation anyway. There's no evidence showing this game has improved at all gameplay wise since that awful looking video from a while back though so I'm just going to assume this is still garbage until proven otherwise.

Point taken; I'll retract my statement and accept that I just made an ass out of you and me.
They're NOT higher res, though. Seriously, do you people WANT me to undo the shrinking I did on the images? Because it's all in the img tag; if you copy their URL and look 'em up in the address bar, I guarantee you they're the same size.

Higher res or not, Eggman still sucks.
also note, that his red nose is gone, I guess he finally took an advil for the flu.Hybrid wrote:Higher res or not, Eggman still sucks.
Nope, plastic surgery and makeup, since it’s seems he learned to not waste all his money in robots, machines and evil plots. He could have also reach a crisis or something, one of those things that make your dad get a new car and try to look younger.SegaSonic wrote:also note, that his red nose is gone, I guess he finally took an advil for the flu.Hybrid wrote:Higher res or not, Eggman still sucks.
