Breaking news: some Sega worker leaked the game's plot to a friend. And said friend posted it in DeviantART, of all places. View at your own risk.

THANKS FOR RUINING THE GAME FOR ME.

Thoery: I was playing Sonic3&K on Mega Collection. The painting in the background shows Eggman holding the Master Emerald, (Meaning he's got to be 1000 years old or something) and something else next to him. Some people beleive this to be Super Sonic. To me, I think it is Silver. The quills don't look the same as Super Sonic's.

Maybe Sonic Team had Silver's character in mind since the 90's?

I merely saw you as a tolerable, mildly-clueless internettian up until now, don't ruin it for yourself. It's practically been confirmed that the sole motive for Silver's creation was because they needed a new character to introduce the whole telekinesis gimmick, and they only decided to add that to further take advantage of the Havok physics engine. He was an afterthought, and nothing more. Besides, do you honestly think they knew they'd be making this game 12 years ago?

Sorry.

I heard countless people say that was Super Sonic in the painting, and after playing S3&K the other day, the quills looked different than Super Sonic's, so yeah. That's how I got that idea.

And how in the heck did you manage to obtain that picture of me? :(

Man, I was so prepaired to totally pump up the hate, but then you had to go off and apologize to me. I feel terrible now. Fret not, noble soul; all is forgiven.

Because of this impromptu change of heart, however, I'm afriad I can't state any sources. Try to understand. I can say that Zeta had an ulterior motive towards testing your well for flourine, though. Like a G-Man.

Actually, i'm lying. But i've heard his play style is a bit messed.
I, too, would like to know what you mean by "messed".

It goes without saying that I am happy to see the first Tails screenshot from Sonic 2K6. Does anyone know where it was originally posted? (bolt7?)

On a side note, why Tails often seems/is cross-eyed, I don't know.

Well, concerning Tails... I haven't actually played as him, but it seems be more gadget based.

Actually, i just checked his gameplay in Tails Adventure for the Game Gear, and it seems quite similar. I never played that game, so tell me, how good was it?

I liked it. It's a little slower than most Sonic games, but the usage of items to complete the level, plus water and air levels, varies the gameplay a little. It really is one of the only Game Gear Sonic games worth playing.

Tails Adventure? It was horrible, too slow and buggy in some parts.

Actually, it was quite fun. Slower-paced never bothered me at all (I typically don't play my Sonic games that fast anyway, I like to collect things more than blast through them) and the puzzle-oriented level design was rather unique, if a little on the easy side. Definitely one of the better Game Gear Sonic games.

I thought it was fun. Took a bit of getting used to though with the backtracking.

If it really is Tails Adventure in 3D I'm not sure how it would work in the same levels as Sonic which are get to the end as fast as you can. But at least its something different.

I liked Tails Adventure, too. We'll see how the developers do. Hopefully, they can make the gadget gameplay fun.

If we're lucky, having all the characters go through the same levels means that they can spend more time carefully crafting and perfecting each level.

I actually quite enjoyed Tails Adventure. The only major problem was working out what item you needed to progress through a level could be a slight case of trial and error at times but it was definitely one of the better Game Gear spin offs.

When they say "same levels" I'm pretty sure they just mean the same backdrop. There's no way Silver, who can barely run, would be able to go through any part of the Kingdom Valley level we saw.

Ugh, testosterone overload.

From the way I interpreted it, Nakamura decided that the telekinesis thing he'd been thinking about for another game would be a fun thing to try with a Sonic game, then they designed a character around that. If any part of it was an afterthought, it was the telekiesis, not Silver.

Wow, cool. How would the items work, though? Mecha Tail would be strange stuff and the only method I can think of for finding them would be to scour the Town Stages. If you can't answer that, then can you tell if he still has a spin jump?

Wait, so if they designed a character around a new gimmick they wanted to try out, how is the character not an afterthought?

Yes, you're probably right, but even just using the same backdrop must save them a little bit of development work.

Tails will have Gadget action?

Maybe this will go for all the characters? Knuckles with Custom, Omega with Gadget ect...

Maybe Blaze if playabe will be the second psychic character and control fire.

Looks like heres one of our first playable minor (though I disagree Tails is minor) characters in action.
Now THAT looks next-gen. It's "Just Cause" with a pre-render of Tails stamped on it!

You read that wrong. I imagine it would take a lot more effort to design a character to fit a new feature than it would deciding to use said feature.

Ah. So, perhaps this new Emerald Coast features Tails at your back, ala Sonic 2, or more appropriately, SA1?

Come to think of it, I'm surprised I haven't heard anyone complain about the supposed absence of this feature.

If this game doesnt include that 2player feature I will be upset...however in the website it says 1-2 players so theres hope.

But Someone named Thrippa somehow got a translation of this picture, it seems this picture is hacked from the main site?

Thrippa translated the caption under the Tails pic!
"Friends help Sonic and the others. This time, during the stages, Sonic can be called by his friends, and familiar characters will appear. As for amigo characters, by possible operation, every character is truly soon able to play every Sonic action act"

According to Thrippa why it's worded strange is that she didn't want to correct grammer from Japanese to english, cause then if her correction of grammer was inaccurate to the information, people would kill her.

So, what we gather from this statement-

Sonic's friend's will help him During the stages (Old, but it reminds me of shadow The Hedgehog...)

Sonic can be called by his friends. That definately reminds me of Shadow The Hedgehog, except these characters apparently don't give you missions, they just hep you out. But then it says and familiar characters will appear... does that just mean his friends will appear?

And apparently, after you meet the characters, you can play them in all of Sonic's action stages!

One thing I've been wondering is how much of a threat Robotnik is in this. It would be awesome if we could fight him after every stage like in the classic Sonic games. Ol Egghead needs more camera time badly. :<
