But it's just stupid - if you're going to do a small game like this, especially one that's intended for multiplayer, you don't really need a story.
Sonic Battle didn't need a story and oh, look what happened there.
I just mean, better something quick and dirty than something this stupid...

Oh wait... this just *is* something quick and dirty...

Hm. But you *could* go simpler still - like what Forza said. And if that really was an idea they'd had, I don't see why they'd think, "Hey! Let's throw in things getting turned into cards!" Presumably the cards are important somehow, but do they have to be transformed people/artifacts of power?

I've sure gotten my use out of those hours I spent reading the game script.

I still think the Sonic Battle story was the best and most coherent since SA.

Despite the stupid interaction between Sonic and Tails during the ending.

They either need to start paying their writers or stop paying them. I'm not sure where they stand on that right now, but whatever the case it's time they toggled the payment status of whoever's been responsible for these last few years of embarrassment.
I'm starting to think SEGA might not actually have any paid writers, with this story being as ridiculous as it is.

Either that, or simply being able to spell your name is the only qualification needed to get on the staff.

Flash has a point though, I'm not ever going to touch this game so I don't really know why I should care about the story. Usually I'd say it would have something to do with not wanting to see my favorite video game character be screwed over with shitty script, but we're all fairly used to that by now.

I don't know what it says either. Cursed Babelfish.

I guess it's something along the lines of "Nothing can make this game cool. Not even <i>DOOM</i> music."

It means:
this game will need more things to appeal me, a game that look bad

It could be resumed as “Awful game, good script.â€￾?

This one looks awesome, but I’m still worried about the game controls, if the game fun factor is high, I may be able to ignore everything else.

It does look nice. But not in the slightest bit fresh.

Like <i>Sonic</i> level designs have been fresh for a good while.

I think it was called Chaotix. Even the original Sonic Adventure's levels were bland and archetype platformer levels (but still great)...only Lost World really stood out to me.
