Am I the only one who noticed that half the level structures were ripped from SA2 & Heroes? The majority of those floating platforms looked very familiar.

Also, I'm not sure, since they all look the same, but I think there's a new interview at http://e3.sega.com/
Can you hint at who else will be playable in Shadow The Hedgehog, if any?

As this is the first solo adventure for Shadow, the primary adventure and gameplay revolves around our star, Shadow.
It's cryptic as always, but I have a feeling that the regular cast aren't playable. I don't see how they could fit in with the footage we've seen, unless it's only for 1 level.

And I'm with Esrever. Every move that Sonic Team's made since Advance 2 has pissed me off, and I'm just tired of it. So I'm going to pretend that Sonic the Hedgehog ended in 1998 and take this as a standalone game. If I'm going to play it, I may as well enjoy it. And sure, there'll be a subconsious voice screaming at me about how wrong everything is, slowly driving me insane, but at least I'll be in good spirits.

Shut up! Everything they've made since Advance 2 has been SOLID GOLD, and this one is going to be even better! Fuck you! You fuckin' dick! Always naysaying! Everything they... create! YOU create something!

At this point, we could hand Es a box with dog shit in it, put the Sonic logo on it, and we'd make a profit.
This may be our last chance to do so.

Apparently Shadow the Hedgehog will have 23 levels and 10 endings.

I hope that the "decision" sections involve more than just "be good or be bad".

Respect points up for quoting the D. However I have to side with the others on this one. From Sonic Advance 2 I've found the games somewhat dissapointing.
And 10 endings? That must be about 5 endings where Shadow dies, not nearly enough.

New info from Gamespot about the synopsis to Shadow the Hedgehog:

http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/shad ... 25824.html
The game serves up an original story that catches the spiky-coiffed hog after the events seen at the end of Sonic Adventure 2. For those who missed the drama-filled finale of that game, Shadow set out for parts unknown in an escape pod once Sonic showed him the business. Shadow the Hedgehog finds the moody hero landing on a mysterious planet roughly 50 years after we last saw him. Toss in some amnesia, an evil dictator who's oppressing the planet's residents, a hefty dose of high-speed gameplay that tries some new things, and you have the perfect setup for a new platformer. We tried out a work-in-progress version on display in Sega's booth to get a taste of what to expect from this new branch of the Sonic family tree.

As we mentioned, Shadow the Hedgehog's story takes place long after Sonic Adventure 2's finale. The amnesiac hog finds himself in the midst of a hefty amount of upheaval on an alien world. But rather than follow the expected, earnest path of a platform hero, Shadow's adventure will be a subjective outing driven by your choices. Your core goal is to gather a shiny set of chaos emeralds that are strewn throughout the world. You'll quickly find that in addition to all the properties we've seen the chaos emeralds possess in previous Sonic games, the mysterious gems also restore memories.
...wait, I don't remember Shadow using an escape pod at the end of SA2. I remember him performing Chaos Control with Sonic and falling to his supposed doom.

...the rest sounds like some bad Archie plot. =/

Must...resist...urge...to care...

And the interview I posted says it takes place after Heroes...though I guess 50 years in the future fits that. If this is true though, I imagine it's is why time travel is an important element. But that's a big if right now.

Yes, but it can say a lot about the atmosphere of the game. In this case I think Sega chose that nihilistic, grinding rock for a reason.

Sega is currently trying to iron out licensing issues so that it can get the original Japanese soundtrack in for Sonic CD in addition to the redone U.S. tunes (and yeah, the Japanese soundtrack is far better).
