The very fact they've chosen to delay the title based on quality issues gives me a slight slither of hope for the game again.

Only 3 issues had made me think the game looked "bad". The floaty jumping, the minecart level and the casino score challenge level.

If all of these issues are addressed (and with the last 2, hopefully completely removed, regardless of whether or not it hurts level count), then the game could at least be as fun as an average Dimps Sonic title, which would be at least "decently playable" in my eyes.

You forgot the homing attack target. If they make that and the homing attack target optional, then I guess we can call it the true Sonic 4.

Yeah, like a statement such as that can't be polluted/bent by interpretation.

Can you tell me any other time where Sega delayed a game due to community feedback?

Where do you think that Shadow game came from? They read some post of how Shadow using guns would be cool!

The year was 1992! Sega sent out review copies of Shinobi III for the Genesis/MD to reviews that generally said that it was good, but no way as good as Revenge of Shinobi. Then, after the reviews were already printed, they delayed the game for maybe a year (I'm not sure when the original intended release date was), and when it came back it was a different game, scoring high in every magazine I remember, and is still one of my favorites to this day. I don't know what really needed changing, but I'm glad they did it.

Ivy the Kiwi? is going to be offered in both hard copy and downloadable form? That's different.

Didn't Sega delay Sonic Heroes to fix up some problems with it? It really wouldn't surprise me if Sega delayed it and fixed nothing, but judging by that interview it sounds like they are actually going to make the physics "less floaty and more pinball-like".

I'm not mad about the delay. It actually works into my gaming schedule better than the original release date.

You can't really say that Sega hasn't ever listened to gamers. They did canceled the Vectorman PS2 remake after it got negative feedback at E3 some years ago.

This is it.

This was actually sort of adorable, up until I realized this individual is apparently 21 years of age.

There was one 20-year-old individual in my class last year who I would imagine the same if not similar sensibilities as the person you just quoted. Quite an astronomical find, really.

I'm getting mid-90s vibes from it, in a good way. Reading the description it sounds like a lost Saturn game. Maybe it's the aliens reminding me of the Flickies in Sonic 3D, maybe it's the carnival stuff reminding me of Chaotix, maybe it's Sonic and Tails running together with no other characters in sight... I dunno. It looks really nice!

I'm burnt out from discussing this elsewhere, so I'll just say that this game has so far managed to pull all the right strings for me. It didn't take much at all, either- surreal, imaginative environments are all I've ever really wanted from Sonic. I can't wait for the actual gameplay clips to shit in my mouth!

Man, I hope this is not going to to be on rails. At least the music direction seems to have finally shifted from the endless guitar riffs to something more peppy. (Leave it to Italian tradition to make a musical imprint...trailer music made me think "cheap italo house" almost immediately.)

Come to think of it, the next game should be done by Sega of Brazil, or feature Carl Cox.

I have to admit the concept for that game sounds pretty cool. I think I'm just glad to see a Sonic game that's not taking itself so seriously for once. Still, it's the gameplay that's going to matter at the end of the day.

What the fuck does Italy have to do with anything, and why are we discussing the same game in two different topics.
