Soooo... anyone seen the new motobug animation in the website?

Kinda reminds me of those toys from Shenmue. Plus, I always imagined the motobug a bit rounder.

I always imagined a "3D" Motobug as having the shell more distinctly separated from the wheel, making it appear as if he was bouncing along on some kind of invisible suspension while the wheel rolled smoothly. One of the neat things about the original Motobug was how organic its movements seemed, as it picked at the ground, like it kind of had to work to maintain balance. That's what I was really hoping to see from this, but it sure doesn't look like it.

I think the redesign looks ugly. The claws look exaggeratedly big, it lost its cute, shiny ladybug appeal, and those eyes embedded in the head make a bad impression as well.

Hah! I actually was going to link to that too, but when I watched it again I noticed that the Motobugs actually don't really bounce at all (the movement on the Buzz Bomber is awesome though) and my memory had made it more polished than it actually was.
