Heffalump=Thick skinned animal like a Rhino or an Elephant. Usually another term for the latter.

It's funny, we used to rip the wings off craneflies and watch them go about their business. They can't even walk; they sort of stumble about humorously before being eaten by birds. We were vicious children.
