IGN's Sonic board gives me a headache.

Wow, the only thing missing is the Harlequin Fetus.

As they say, you can't spell ignorant without IGN. It's so damn stupid how they make you pay for the good stuff.

Harlequin fetus? I said. THAT'S one I haven't seen. So, being the masochist I am, I went a googlin'.

Christ, that's one scary looking baby.

I think <a href="http://asylumeclectica.com/malady/archi ... .jpg">this poor schnook</a> came out much worse.

Apparently they're getting these things to survive past infancy now. I say there's questionable ethics involved in letting them survive at all. Sometimes death is more precious than life, and some people can't seem to understand that.

What kind of medical conditions could possibly cause something that bad to happen to a being that is apparently still alive?

The more details you provide the better.

Stop posting links like that, my curiousity gets the best of me and then I'm horrified. Good thing I have a back button on my mouse so I can switch back really fast. Anyway, what does Harlequin mean?

Wikipedia is your friend... but not in this case. Wish I hadn't read about it...

*pokes the dead cats with a stick*

Curiosity was surely their undoing.

A Harlequin is a type of clown from, I believe, English pantomimes.

As for what causes the harlequin fetus syndrome, I don't think they've determined it yet. Apparently there have been over 100 cases of this reported internationally, with the earliest record being from the 1700's.

I'd like to know what the hell kind of karma you need to be carrying to end up like that.

Harlequin, eh? Look up the Batman character. It's like a jester of sorts.

With modern medical science developing at the rate it is, it's possible that these harlequin babies may live an entire decade. So... what sick fuck would allow a person to live like that? Ignoring the physical deformities, it's hard to breath, and move, they get sick like my dog drools, their body temperatures are all out of whack... going back to the physical deformities, they would have no friends, and the parents would probably not have any friends left, either. I know I wouldn't associate with someone who basically tortured their child.
