Sonic Balloon

Post by Spazz »

I knew that there was a Sonic balloon! I was kinda wondering what happened to it.

http://www.ny.com/holiday/xmas-1994/gallery14.html

What they say about Sonic is kind of an insult, even though they obviously don't know much...
I know that's an old page, but I thought it'd be interesting to bring up

Anyone know where I can find more pics of that balloon?

I believe that's the only picture of the Sonic balloon on the internet.

Does anyone happen to know how long that float was used? I know it debuted in 1993 and then it hit that lamp post and a policeman and some little girl got hurt. I read something somewhere that said it happened again in 1995 (apparently such incidents are common, which makes you wonder). Does anyone know anything about the second collision?

Also I presume the balloon was also flown in '94, but what about after '95? Was that the last year?

If anyone's that desperate I can scan a photo of a Sonic Balloon I have in a Sonic the Hedgehog Annual (...) from 1993 or so.

It's a screen capture from the Hall of Fame in Sonic Jam.

Regardless of where you got it, that picture does come from Sonic Jam.

Who's the rabbit behind Sonic in that picture? Is that supposed to be the Nestle Quick bunny or something? And what's with the dog? Is that Beethoven?

Fun fact: Beethoven featured both an NES and a SMB title at one point in the movie. I believe it was SMB 3, but I may be wrong.

Beethoven featured Super Mario Brothers briefly. This makes it "okay" by default.

Stuff you make chocolate milk with. Now it's called "Nesquick."
Must not have it in the UK, I guess, heheh.

Nesquick vanilla is so outrageously awesome it's made me start drinking milk, and until it existed, I hated milk.

Something about vanilla flavored milk just sounds nasty. I used to drink a ton of milk when I was younger, it was my main choice of drink. Around 12 though I pretty much completely stopped drinking it at all aside from in cereal.

We have it in the UK. It's just always been called Nesquick. You're so behind in the times.

It's Nesquik. Nesquik! It isn't Nesquick. No place for correct spelling in advertising!

Nesquik's a bit lame. I mean, you put the powder in the milk and stir it but it always comes out all gritty and flavourless and with those little sticky lumps in where the powder didn't dissolve. Crusha is the way forward - 2 liquids just work a whole lot better together. Like lesbians.

Oh, and that wasn't the only Sonic balloon. For those who don't know, there's a Sonic 2-era Sonic hot air balloon still making rounds in the UK. You can ride on it and everything. It flew by my house once
