Post your artwork (56k warning)
Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
I was one of the last people I know to make the move to broadband, so I was complaining a lot about things taking too long to load. I think I was still here when this thread started. I don't really remember though. There were a few years where I stopped coming here.
tl;dr The 56k warning might be partially my fault.

Did you just put a tl;dr on a 1.2 line post?

Remake, also with a different character.
Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
Well... The loli looks a little less dead in this one. She looks more like she's exposed in this manner on a frequent basis. Maybe she has a sadistic brother that posts images of her on irc. Some sort of brother complex.
Seriously man. It's not about flowers. You just like to draw da loli.
Oh, and the feet need work. You best to find better reference.

Could you add some bees next time?
Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
I thought the flowers were there to censor her nudity, yet you can see (part) of her chest. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the flowers in the first place?

No, no, she's there as a backdrop to the flowers. Really, naked little girls have nothing to do with this!!
Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
I know it sounds ridiculous, but yes. Well, although she isn't entirely irrelevant as the placement of the flowers interacts with her position to some extent. For example her having turned the back towards the narcissi bearing, amongst others, the meaning of unrequited love.Delphine wrote:No, no, she's there as a backdrop to the flowers. You do know flowers are just plant genitals, right?
Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
You've really got to stop using Jesus as reference P.P.A. Only he can partially ignore the rule of thirds and get away with it. Your fan base is too small to break the basic rules of composition.
Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
I swear I did not think once of a crucified position when drawing it. Her legs are positioned that way to emphasise on her turning away from the daffodils of unrequited love and the red camellias of heartache while being in a bit of a defensive position, and originally the right arm was places differently until I thought it would be better to have her hold it away from her as though she was pushing it aside. Th- wait, now I just realised that this does not conform any more with me having given her a Lily of the Valley representing hope and a good outcome (my original plans involved something else)... I was too focused on placing that in her open hand to express that she could seize this future at any time.
Nnngh, time to revise this. Later though, I first need to do something else.

I really want to see bees involved with this.

Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
Actually, I agree. I think bees would fit in quite nicely.
Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
You guys are all sick.
But yeah. I agree on the bees thing.

Do you really want to know? I don't.

Answers within:Most likely due to the box art, I always used to see Robotnik in Sonic 2 (my first Sonic) as a giant bearded MODOK-esque flying severed head, with buck teeth, tilted back, in a helmet that obscured his eyes, who flared his nostrils at you when he got hit.
Re: Post your artwork (56k warning)
I sort of get what you mean, like I can see that Eggman's bald pate is the nose, and his red shirt is meant to be the beard, but beyond that I'm lost. I get it but I don't see it.

I can hardly see it anymore. For some reason it's more... see-able... in motion.
I think he just always reminded me of this guy.

Silly edit limit.
Here, watch this video and, instead of looking at Eggman's head to see his eyes, look into the dark space above the back of his chair, and try to see it as the same sort of dark, empty eyes as the American Boxart. Then imagine those eyes attached to the head of Mister Spear-and-magic-helmet up there.

I can sort of see what you mean, but it's a struggle. It made me feel car sick.
