For reals. If I'd seen it without context I wouldn't have thought of Eggman at all.

Oops. Sorry for the confusion Xyt, I didn't do that one. It was made by this kid... who also happens to be this other kid.

Addendum: new Sonic picture.
The entirety of Hoshino's illustrations beats everything.

You really should've pointed that out at first- this is the "Post Your Artwork" topic, after all.
And that girl looks a lot more like a cosplaying fangirl than anything else.

I feel like I've seen that style Sonic before. It's much much better than most of the stuff shown by Sega as of late.

I made some comic strips!

...

But the forum frames won't break anymore apparently (it's too wide) so you'll have to click a link to view it.

A Day at the Races.

It's got dinosaurs in it!

Charming. But now I've got that "horse race" music stuck in my head.

So, uh...I started to write a fanfic. No, wait! Don't hit back! Let me explain!

Most fanfics are written as vehicles to express some grandiose plot idea their writer thought was cool and wanted to share. This one was too, in part, but it ended up as something a little different. When I wrote this I set out to capture the spirit of the games, or what it is to me anyway. Imagery was my tool of choice, along with some entertaining narrative. More than anything I'd call it a meditation on the series, but it's interspersed with enough humor and action to stay engaging. I came up with interesting explanations for some of the in-game stuff, and the characters turned out perfect. I know well the cynicism here, and I wouldn't be subjecting myself to this if I didn't think it's the sort of thing a good chunk of you guys would like.

Here's the first 5 paragraphs. They're a pretty good preview.
Brilliant sunshine flowed gracefully across a land rich with life. The sky was a tapestry of light entwined with a magical element not often seen by man. The gentle rustling of trees in the wind and the distant sound of running water were all that permeated this haven. It was the time between day and night when all creatures went quiet: some resting, some rising. But the anxious silence of the coming change was broken as the weary trotting of sneakers approached.

A bedraggled blue figure came to a gradual stop at an abrupt ledge. The amber fire standing on the horizon illuminated the tired glaze on his eyes, though he showed no signs of fatigue. For a moment he absorbed the lush forest scene, no visible emotion in his stance. As his senses returned to him, he cocked his head slightly and asked himself in an oblivious voice, “Is that sun rising or setting?”

Sonic’s confusion was not without good reason. Just moments ago he had been running, but not running like a normal being. He had been running for three days straight. But it wasn’t the lack of food or sleep that made him groggy. Sonic had more than enough energy to function for at least another day before he felt the effects of those basic needs.

When the world wasn’t under attack, Sonic got bored. When Sonic got bored, he ran. Sometimes, however, usually when he ran for a long time without stopping, he would enter some sort of trance. He found his senses weakening, his mind growing quiet. It was as though his body itself was just a distant echo in the back of his perception. He could still see where he was and control his movements, but somehow he felt he didn’t have to. In this state, he could race aimlessly for days through all manner of terrain, fully unaware of his surroundings, until this dream-like state gradually faded.

Whether it was his supersonic version of meditation or just the blood rushing to the back of his head, Sonic was never sure. He didn’t really hate when it happened. What he hated was waking up from it.
Check out the first chapter, it's a little over a page long. If you like my style, try the next 3. 1-3 are sort of an extended intro, with the real action getting started in 4. The rest are ok, but not as good.

Chapter 2

Chapter 5
Robotnik's Log 1

I half expected it to take me to a screen insulting my manhood and suggesting that I seek another forum. Maybe that should be another item for the to-do list.

Tails's expression in the second to last panel is pretty priceless.
