I personally think a hat would actually detract from the image in this instance. That dino is just about perfect as is.

Hahaha, it is too late, he has already been Xmas Hat-ified! Taste the season!

I was thinking of not doing a hat, but as I started adding color I felt that it really needed something else in there to spice it up and get some extra color in there. It would have been a good drawing as it was, but eh, I just had to do it.

Image

If you wanted a print, I can send you the biggie-size file and you could probably go to a place like Kinko's or some other copy-type shop and get something large done, but the size I worked at may not be big enough for really large printing, at 300dpi it's only 10 inches tall or so, so depending on the print method it might come out pixely or something if you tried to make it bigger. It might cost a fair bit (I've never looked into it) but they can really do some pretty cool stuff at those places. I still have the original lineart untainted by hatness, or I could probably be conned into altering the colored version to omit the offending garments if you like the color.

I never played Oddworld. Once I was very close to buying the first two games but for some reason I decided not to.

Silver, you've been playing too much Shadow of the Colossus. Or maybe not enough.

Oddworld art, I couldn't approve more, it shocks me to this day how little appreciation the games get.

Loving the colouring on the Parappa drawing, Neil.

Here's some of my stuff from the past few days.

Some guy for a comic that I will never in my life have the patience to do
Image

A duck for Adium, which is an IM client for Mac. Their icon is a duck, I don't know why but it stuck and at the moment they have this old duck and it ain't so cool and you don't want to get involved in these duck politics man
Image

A poster for an international festival in my city, called 'One Planet'. I'm actually being paid for this one. 10 Euros. Yes, that's the sound of my pockets jingling
Image

This one is a sketch of my beloved. Looks all right too. ;)

Your duck seriously looks like one of those fancy emoticons that popup ads occasionally tell me I could be using to improve my chat quality right now! I hate those emoticons, but they are pretty sharp and polished so that is meant as a compliment, it looks really professional.

Surprise! A not-dinosaur! And an orange background! Did Neil subconsciously influence me?

That's rather Treasure-esque. I can see Gunstar Heroes, Alien Soldier, and Mischief Makers in there.

The only art in that is the duck. Every shadow, bit of gloss, whatever, may make it look good, but it doesn't require any real skill from anybody. The people who make icons are strange people, who know how to use every gradient, bezel and drop shadow in Photoshop to full effect. A good many of them are also egotistical wankers who constantly bitch and whine to no end. And I hate those smilies too.

I like your Gunner fella a lot. :) Very stylised and pointing energy in all the right directions - I only have one complaint and that's the arms. Guys like him need a little more muscle, don't you think?

And Adamis, just good stuff all round. Giving the characters a bit more weight is something I think they need to do.
