The romantic coupling of Tails and Cream: What the crap?

While it's only semi-related to the games and more related to just the Sonic universe itself, I just felt the need to share this casual observation that, were I not aware of the no-holds-barred nature of the internet, would be somewhat troubled over.

If you've taken a glance at the more laid-back forums of Sonic fandom, you've no doubt noticed that a lot of people like to fantasize Miles Prower and Cream the Rabbit as a romantic couple. While there's nothing wrong with harmless speculation, I wonder what the drive for this is.

On one hand, people in general find it very cute when youngsters, real or ficticious, engage in romantic pursuits, mainly because young kids usually possess a blissful ignorance of the whole shebang and are humourously tumbling through the process, without any real sense of commitment.

On the other hand, this interest may be the result of those who find Tails and Cream dead sexy and would blow wads of cash for a doujinshi of the two of them rhytmically pumping into each other like...well, a fox and a rabbit.(and I apologize for those who were mentally scarred by reading that sentence.) An atypical mix of furry and lolicon.

Personally, I think the motive depends on the person. But while I'd like to think that it's merely for the cuteness factor, people's sexual interests tends not to leave anything untouched.

Your thoughts?

You know, there actually IS art out there that depicts such things already. And given the presence of such artists as Toyjo, the chance of there being a doujinshi of such is relatively high, too. Don't say I didn't warn you.

As for the interest, I believe it mainly has to due with 'pairing'. Sonic has been 'paired' up with Amy. Knuckles has been paired up with Rouge. Tails needs someone... and there's a little girl about his age, called Cream. Why not hook them up, too?

This all stems from bad fanfiction and bad fanart, which has led to plenty of OTHER terrible things.

It's twisted fanboy/girl logic.

Amy is interested in Sonic.

Tails is Sonic's sidekick.

Cream is pretty much Amy's sidekick - she hasn't been explicitly called that, but that's how she was treated in Sonic Battle and Sonic Heroes.

Therefore, Cream and Tails must like eachother. Also, they both fly, so they MUST be in love.

I know, doesn't make much sense. I'm reminded of the horrible days of Batman where Batgirl and Batwoman were introduced simply to give Batman and Robin love interests so as to prove that Batman and Robin were straight.

Another explanation is that if a flying mutant fox did it with a flying bunny - think of how hilarious the children would look. You'd have bunny foxes that had four tails growing out of their head and ears coming out of their asses.

With every fandom, you are going to find every 'ship' under the sun no matter how sensible or stupid it is. I bet there is bad Matrix fanfiction out there on the web that feature Neo/Agent Smith-shipping.

Oh well...better Tails/Cream than say Sonic/Chris(which I have unfortunately stumbled upon).

There are so many Neo/Agent Smith fics out there, it's mind-boggling. Yet strangely enough, I have never seen a Kid/Neo fic, despite the fact that Kid acts like he's just waiting for Neo to turn his head so he can gobble Neo's wang.

Sonic/Chris would actually be funny, if Sonic treated Chris like the little annoying bitch he is . . .

In terms of awful Sonic pairings, I'm suprised there's not any rape doujin featuring Chaos and his gooey tentacles.

I actually think it WOULD be interesting if Sonic got an actual love interest within the series (er, but not Princess Sally or Tina Boobowski - Boobowski, what where those wacky American developers on?) if only for the fact that it would be funny to see Amy's zany attempts to assasinate her new rival.

Wait, there are many? I was under the impression that there was like 3 or 4 fics that dealt with the pairing. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised as some people seem to think that rivals or villians of equal attractiveness seem to have a homosexual agenda with each other. That's why Sonic/Shadow is popular.

On one hand, it would introduce the crappy little concept of "the love triangle" to the Sonic games. This concept was shit in the Archie comics. On the other hand, it would be really funny to see Amy try to kill her new rival. Though in the end, I don't think Sonic Team would have the balls to pull that off so nay, to another girl who loves Sonic.

To answer a previous bit: oh yes, Chaos and his tentacles are popular. Wait, when did Chaos actually HAVE tentacles? Ever? Sure, he had balls (sure, they were Emeralds, but he was throwing his emerald-powered balls around, people) but I don't remember tentacles.

Second, Sonic/Chris? Did we see the same image? I saw Chris playing bitch to Sonic.

Sonic/Shadow. Sonadow. Ah yes. There's an entire Yahoo group dedicated to that one.

Also, Sonic CulT, when not aversely opposed to 'DE FAGS', seems to support the Sonic and Tails boylove movement. Not a surprise.

Of course, I've seen far, far worse than any of these in other fandoms, but knowing that my very first fandom has been... violated... in this way just, it just hurts, man.

Actually since Chao don't actually have gender, that wouldn't be very gay. And while it would be incestuous, you can easily inbreed Chao in SA and SA2 . . .

On a slightly related note, wouldn't it be super disturbing if Big and Froggy were more than friends? I would think that's a physical impossibility, but when you have a giant mentally handicapped cat and a . . . frog of some sort - Anything is possible.

But the most disturbing pairing anyone could ever come up with, Sonic-wise, is Chris/Dr. Eggman. Yeah, it just doesn't get anymore disgusting or disturbing than that.

God, I hate Chris. I stopped watching Sonic X awhile ago, though, as none of the episodes ever seemed to focus on Sonic.
