Megaman Legends 3 Announced.

Post by Brazillian Cara »

I know there's already a somewhat active Megaman-related topic, but I thought this is something worthy of its own discussion.

So, yeah. After almost a decade of complaints and expectations from the fans - and particularly Inafune himself - a sequel for Megaman Legends was announced for the 3DS.

Considering how much Nintendo handheld games usually sell, a 3DS launch is definetely the best idea they could have had. But that aside, it would be nice (if not asking too much) if they got most of the original voice cast back for this.

A compilation release beforehand would be wiser. I'd like to once play 1, 2, & Tron Bonne. As it is I can't get excited.

Yeah this and the rest of the 3ds line up looks absolutely great. I havent bought a portable console since the GBA and I just might have to pick this up on day one. Legends is going to look amazing on the 3DS. It's a perfect fit.

3DS looks rather dull to me! It is just a bunch of remakes and sequels, and it appears only 3D-focused - as in like console games since 1995, not the new 3D feature.

All of these franchises certainly put the PSP to shame, but it all seems pointless unless someone literally can only play games on a handheld. 3DS seems like a home console replacement as PSP is rather than a complimentary gaming device as GBA/DS/GBC/et cetera was.

Also Nintendo never drops prices on anything and actually puts old games up in price, so expect to pay 50+ dollars for all of this for the next 10 years.

I'd still really like to see Legends 3 (or at least a port of the previous titles) on the Wii. It seems like such a no brainer... the pointer lends itself perfectly to that kind of game! But I guess a stylus could work, too...

I totally don't remember any of what happened in the last one. I remember a pain-in-the-ass water dungeon that was a pain in the ass even by water dungeon standards.

I'm also not going to take anything Inafune has to say seriously until he puts on a tie and fixes his fucking hair.

This was in the first one, I think. It had water walls with swimming death behind them or something, and stuff you needed to kill before it killed you. The rest is a blur. Come to think of it, weren't there switches for raising the wa-oh shit it's all coming back now, I'm gonna stop right there.

...more pleasant memories of the games feature the ability to jump really fucking high later on - by the end of it you could jump over entire buildings and stuff as I recall. It was awesome.

As were the Bonne family bosses, but that's kind of given.

Vote for your favorite jail-bait!

Seriously though, the rightmost top one is more than a little evocative of Curly Brace.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that noticed some resemblance to Zero in Inafune's design. I'd still vote for the Met-hat girl, though.

Kind of nuts to see him quit after all this time of trying to finally be approved for a new Mega Man Legends, but it seems after his "glorious West!" meltdown of an interview, you kind of got the feeling he was frustrated working at Capcom so the writing was on the wall.

If they made me wear Abercrombie T-shirts to do promotional videos, I'd quit too. Can he fix his hair, now?

I'm actually surprised that he got to resign by his own accord - I was almost sure it was a matter of time before he got fired, considering how much he openly complained about his job. I wonder how this is going to affect Legends 3 - or any future Megaman games, for that matter - but I'm a bit curious to find out what he's planning to do now; a lot of his ideas about the gaming industry are pretty out of the norm (at least concerning japanese games).

And now Jun Takeuchi takes over Inafune's former job.
As of 1st November, Jun Takeuchi will take on the added responsibility of corporate officer as well as his existing deputy head of consumer games and R&D Division, and general manager of R&D production.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, Capcom's taking Inafune's depature as an opportunity to shuffle a few key staff around. Katsuhiko Ichii will become head of development organisation, and a new development management team will be headed by Nobuyuki Matsushima, Jun Takeuchi, Taichiro Genbun, Hiroyuki Kobayashi and hutaro Kobayashi.

"Capcom is truly a good company," continued Inafune. "I love Capcom. Probably more than anyone in the world. However, it's not always the case that your hopes are realized. Just as it was with the girlfriend I loved long ago."
Hmm.

^ Yeah, that's kinda cryptic to me, too. Just a mild comparison or a look into how he feels about his ex (can't stand to be with her, but still attached to her)?
