3 videos of gameplay footage. There'll be a demo launching with the 3DS's E-store for 200 yen. How well the demo sells will be a big factor in weather or not the game is officially greenlit by Capcom's execs.

Ill be sure to pick up a 3DS in time for this then. What they've got is really really charming looking. Even if the new character is a bit eh. . .fan character-y.

Why does the player character look like Renji from Bleach?

Regardless, it seems the main character is some red-haired idiot and not Mega Man.

Legend Zero?

How can a game get far enough along in development to release a demo without being greenlit?

Also the notion of charging for a demo is... what the shit? I mean, the reason demos exist is to persuade people to buy the game, right?

I would rather save my 200 yen for a Family Mart nikuman or 20 Umaibous, but the game does look pretty good.

Wow, if that isn't the opposite of every "support a downloadable game" argument ever! It's always "this game costs less than a good hamburger," but no one ever says "but that's one less hamburger for me!" I know we've all changed over the years, but I never expected you would choose food over video games.

If we don't protest against having to pay for fricking demos today, we might very well find ourselves paying for fricking screenshots tomorrow. Just look at what Microsoft and Sony did with their stupid avatars and themes and whatnot, they charge people so they can advertise their very games.

Didn't Rockman 2 also have an unconventional development, with Inafune and Co. pretty much having to make it in their spare time?

Is this actually really a demo? Are they calling it a demo? Is it content that will be included in the finished game?

To be fair, you don't see most other large publishers distributing literal beta versions of a product for any reason. I believe this a unique case (perhaps).

Well, I at least need enough strength to push the buttons.

Is this beta? So this is not really a demo demo, then? More like a sample of a game that may or may not eventually be released and even if it is it it'll be pretty different from this. Cause that would be a horse of a different color. Am I interpreting this correctly?

By the way, I got this:

Image

It's bright-ass blue and tastes like sugar water without enough sugar. On the bright side, my HP gauge has been replenished.

'Scuse me if this is old news, but apparently the new guy's full name is Berrette Blues.

Why must every single reincarnation of Proto Man have a pony tail? What's wrong with scarves/bandannas?

Scarves and bandannas are so 1970s.

But the ponytails look stupid, too.

I'm confused, they're saying the prototype won't be released, I thought that's what the paid "demo" was? Did they not actually release that?

No, it was delayed indefinitely due to "fine-tuning".

And if by "lame Japan-only mobile phone spinoff games", then yes, new Rockman games ARE still being made...

...just not the ones that matter. (dammit, capcom)

Not surprising given the climate surrounding the console in the first place. I may not have bought one but I must still applaud them for trying something new, which is more than Microsoft and Sony could ever hope to do (sorry Segaholic).

Well, that's another reason to not kill myself I can scratch off the list.

I think I'm pretty much down to Uncharted 3. How much Pocky do you have to eat to die?

If it weren't for the recent PSN fiasco I'd chalk this up as one of the biggest PR disasters this industry has seen in a long while. This could mark the begging of the end for Capcom if the ill will this generates from its fans is even half sincere. What do they even have left to offer these days, Street Fighter iterations? It's not the '90s anymore!

They may as well have released art of Capcom's board as a firing squad executing the Mega Man franchise as a whole.

Allow me to quote something a friend of mine on Facebook said:

"We at Capcom are hugely excited about the future. After we release Super Street Figter 4 Hyper Turbo Chocolate edition, we're focusing on NO MEGAMAN LOL Devil may Faggotry, Resident Rehash, and NO PHOENIX WRIGHT. Truly, these are the best times to be a capcom fan! BUY OUR GAEMS.

BTW, MVC3 is now obsolete! Buy ULTIMATE MVC3! coming soon!"

I didn't know this. It explains alot. I think I would trust these guys with Dash 3, but I'm sure Capcom wouldn't throw any more money at it.
