Know what else was easy?

Viewtiful Joe.

Was the second one any good? I never got it.

Viewtiful Joe 2 and Ecco Defender of the Future are two games I've owned for a long time, but I've never gotten around to them. I played the first Viewtiful Joe a lot over a very short time span (something like 40-50 hours in 2.5 weeks) and the sequel is very similar, but lacks a certain charm. I feel like I've talked about this here before...

I could never get into Ecco though. The beginning area was pretty and everything (at the time at least. I don't know how that holds up now). But I could never get myself to play past that.

I just don't know what kind of twisted motherfucker over at Capcom USA thought it was a brilliant idea to map "Jump" to the triangle button and deny the option of changing it in DMC. Other than that and the slightly dodgy camera, I think I like the original better than the third one, but yeah, DMC3's additions to the combat system kind of turn the first one obsolete, and I have it the same happens with DMC4. And then there's Bayonetta. Also, I would totally map Dante's roll to the right analog stick.

Oh, and yeah, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner. Mighty good times.

I'd just like to chime in and say that Shinobi and Ecco: DoF are poor imitations of their 16/32-bit namesakes.

Shinobi bothers me because it's all bottomless pits and flashy kill moves. DoF bothers me because it's not Ecco the Dolphin 3 (I weep for Ecco's unfinished story arc :<). I guess if you don't have much experience with the previous games in these series, these might not apply to you. But they apply to me, goddamn it!
