Wow, ordered. I wonder what prompted the price drop? That's crazy!

Not worth staring a new thread, so:

Grandia on PSN! This is, like, the single PS1 game that I still haven't played and want to.

Is Grandia worth playing? I'm a big fan of Grandia 2, but it has a lot of issues, mainly being too linear.

Gibbon's had kind words for it, and yeah I loved Grandia II's gameplay.

I liked the first one much (much) more than the sequel. The combat in the sequel was more refined, but everything else was better in the first one. I consider it the pinnacle of the 90's spiky-hair-kid-romantic-adventure RPG era.

Unless the PSN version is sporting a completely new translation, though (which I doubt), keep in mind that the US version was censored to eliminate any references to alcohol and is a pretty lousy translation in general.

Also, the Saturn version was graphically superior.

Speaking of non-alcoholic references in games, has anyone been playing Clash of Heroes? I am amazed how this game consumed me while the story lasted, but one of the things I found striking about it is when one of the main characters finds himself in a bar full of surly tough guys all drinking milk and tea. The game generally has a good sense of humor but here they played it so straight with lines that would have been completely pointless and unfunny if the characters weren't talking about milk, I had to interpret it as a parody of translations like Grandia's where all references like that get cut out.

So 3D Picross is finally getting a North American release early this May. I never would have thought that at one point in my life I'd anticipate a Picross game more than a Sonic or Metroid* game, but here I am.

*Confirms late June. Yipee, I guess.

The dubbing is so bad it renders the game unplayable.

New Gorillaz video, featuring a special guest.

Man, something really crappy seems to have happened to the gang. It was so traumatizing, they became 3D animated.

I'm pretty sure this is the 100,000th post, according to the Board Index's counter.

Their odd movement seems to make them look more like puppets than generic CG, which I kind of appreciate. Pretty satisfying renditions, I'd say. Anyway, there should be plenty of 2D animation for other videos if those teasers are any indication. I'm stoked for Plastic Beach.

Arright, so I'm playing Digital: a Love Story, and I've connected to Aparnet (or whatever), with *Emilia primed and ready to commit hari kari to kill the *Greaper virus. Is nothing supposed to happen?

Something is supposed to happen. Did you compile the new anti-virus thing? I don't remember what you do to trigger it, exactly.

Yeah, I did all that. Turns out the game was bugging, probably because I changed my name or something. I rebooted and it worked fine.

Little over dramatic. Couldn't imagine what would've happened had she not died. Would she not get pissed off if and when you eventually fell for a corporeal girl?
