More details on the game are expected to arrive with the latest issue of Nintendo Power. I'll keep you posted as soon as we learn more!

Proto Man on the cover seems to imply that he's playable from the start (and oh gosh I'm tempted to use that as an avatar).

Oh wait he is, and a third character is going to be playable. Smart money says Bass.

Fixed.

But I'm not complaining. If Sega just kept pumping out out "Project Needlemouse" games, I would keep buying. (Assuming they were half decent, which is a big assumption, I know.)

Looks promising, but I'm still waiting for a SNES-styled Megaman X9.

The faux western box art is still a hoot.

So, what year will 16-bit nostalgia kick in for real?

In order words, they can try to pitch the same sub-standard reheated retro festa out the door every 1.5 years or less and you'll happily help them break even from it? Thanks for being shameless. This apart from the fact that right now we know a grand total of two things about the game that aren't cryptic teases or speculation.

As for MM10, to be blunt, this is getting old and I think I preferred it when my Mega Man games didn't try to shout to me, with every screenshot, "OFFICIALLY LICENSED FANGAME". Could they at least find the goddamn sense not to name these as new sequels?

Just 'cause it's low key and fan-service-y doesn't mean it was devoid of professional knowledge of polish and game design. The same can hold true for this one. We'll just have to see.

Although Megaman 9 was a really good game, I've been playing Powered Up lately and it's easily one of my favorite Megaman games. I'd rather they go that route, but apparently it didn't sell well.

This probably sounds "jaded fanboy"-esque, but the fact that Capcom decided to release it on the PSP, which wasn't doing all that great at the time, was probably a factor. I remember seeing on one or two MegaMan sites about fan opinions that they should try and get the games re-released for Wii and see how well that does.

As for MM10, I think it's awesome. Androids dream of electric sheep, and MegaMan blows up electric sheep.

Don't forget Snakeman.

And they really should've released the remakes on something other than the PSP - even the PS2 could be a better plataform in this case.

Hm yes, but Toad Man actually somewhat resembles the animal he's themed after, whereas Snake Man's getup looks more like a headdress. Same goes for Hornet Man.

Even Toadman is still a man though, the toad element is being "worn," just like Snakeman. Hornetman is a little more suspect since he falls into that long line of Japanese characters who have bees living inside them (see Ninja Scroll, Metal Gear Solid 3, etc).

The second Robot Master has finally been revealed:

Image
Information summary:

- Expect a new ice-themed boss who dominates a glacier stage. It's filled with snowmen with exploding heads and ice blocks which break if shot or touched.
- A sewer stage is home to new slug-like Metools.
- A stadium stage contains sports-themed foes like baseball throwing robots, and a soccer goalie mid-boss.

- a desert stage acts as one of the more difficult areas as sandstorms obscure your vision.
- The famous Yashichi item returns, and refills Mega's life and weapon energy completely.
- The shop returns from MM9.
- MM10 features difficulty settings, with easy mode being compared to the difficulty of Mega Man 2.

- The game will contain multiple modes, achievements, challenges, leader boards, and downloadable content.
- Unfortunately, there won't be a female Robot Master this time around. Sorry, Splash Woman fans.
- MM10 is looking to release some time in March 2010.

Mega Man 2 was not easy.

Except for Flash Man's stage.

MegaMan 2 did have an easier difficulty mode, though, are they maybe taking that into account? (It's funny because they called it "normal" mode, but they added it to the US version so it wasn't really normal at all!)

You had trouble with Megaman 2? Actually 2 its my favorite, because 1 its too hard and 3 had the gay slide I never liked to use... also, I really hate Rush.

Baww boo hoo, why oh why should you ever have the choice of pushing a button to move faster/dodge things

1 I can get through without much trouble. 2 I barely ever play. Why? Go on, guess.

Compared to Guts Man's lifts which can be retried over and over with zero penalty, mess that (late game) boss up and you are screwed until the game over screen. I realize MM2 was put together on a shoestring budget, but what bullshit.

Actually, lately I think the hardest Megaman I ever played was Megaman 9.
